They had a pink climbing rose at Lowes but forget the name of it. Would have got one but they looked pretty pathetic. I looked on the tag of the 2nd one said it was grown in Canada but it didn't have the name of "Demokracie" anywhere on the tag that was tied with string around the main branch of it. So I imagine like the first one it is the Original blaze. It is doing so awesome the first one. Here is a picture of it. And I found out I can plant the 2nd one I got up against the Wooden Fence like this one only further down. YAY!! Discovered caterpillar or rose slugs not sure which on it anyhow I picked them off and threw them over the fence :) Was on just one branch as you could tell by the leaves. I also removed two that had the leaves like a cocoon with the caterpillar in it so just removed that entire leaf bract and pitched it over the fence. Haven't seen any since on it. I didn't want to spray it as we do have chickadees and chipping sparrows come to our gardens too. Have set up a small birdhouse in it and the chickadee have taken up residence it . They are sooooooo cute.

Wow! I knew New Dawn could get big, but my goodness!!! As for the color clashing, you're probably right. I was thinking more along the lines of if the blooms were extremely light, near white, but considering it doesn't get that much sun, I'm doubting the blooms would fade to white. All in all, I think I'll leave the New Dawn by itself. ;) And thanks for the tip about it tolerating that little direct sun. I knew it was shade tolerant, but I was thinking it might need at least 4 hours or more. Hopefully she'll put on some good growth for me next year. Cause she doesn't want to do anything in this crazy heat. And I don't blame her. One other thing - how long should I wait to take a cutting from her? Would it hurt to take one now, or should I wait until next year, after she puts on some more growth? Thanks! :)

Thank you for yours nice words, yes, I,m very proud, although I did not expect many blooms for second year. I tied main branches as "8" and finalized a lot first year. These roses are big feeders. This year I planted many climbing roses along the fence in my back yard (America, Pinkie, Pinata, Don Juan, Made of honor) and I,m exited to see result next year. Irina

Before the remodel, we only had the main faucet.We have a whole house filtration system, but still, it's long ways for the water to reach the sink, not to mention there is a water softener in between. I always wondered how clean the tap water was for drinking. The old fridge did not have a water hookup. Well, last night, everything water related has been hooked up -- the new fridge that has filtered water and an ice maker, as well as an under sink filter and an instant hot that go to a hot/cold drinking water faucet (separate from the main faucet). DH took a glass, got some chilled water from the fridge door, dispensed an ice cube or two, then went to the drinking water faucet. Some room temp filtered water, and some near boiling instant hot water later, he took a couple sips of the mixture and uttered, "just perfect!"
