recommendations for neutral gray for house exterior

Hi everyone,

I've tried six Ben Moore gray samples on my exterior brick and I don't like any of them so far--I'm at work, or I'd post a pic. They included revere pewter, gray owl, harbor gray, san antonio gray, and two others whose names I can't remember at the moment. I don't want a bluey grey, but I also don't want brown... some of these looked bluey or even purplish at different times of day, and some looked brown (revere pewter looked beige/tan), and some just looked almost white (gray owl).

Any thoughts? Any successes with exterior grey paint? I know it depends on the surroundings, lighting, etc. But I'd still like a place to start.

(FWIW, I'm planning to get vinyl shutters from HD in tuxedo grey from ekena millwork... I don't know if I should wait to get the shutters and THEN pick paint, or try to pick paint and find shutters to match. I don't really want any maintenance with shutters which is why I'm going vinyl. Our painter is looking to start mid-July...)
