Can you give us a bit more to work with? Firstly, where is this located geographically? Is it indoors or out? And please give us a picture from the side showing the stem, leaf attachment and growth habit of the plant.

Metro Detroit, MI - I dug it out of the ground in my lawn last summer, not sure when, and planted it in that pot. I'll take another picture. I have no idea if it is indoors or not, but it was planted in the pot and left outside all winter, so it appears to be a perennial for this area.

It's not sick at all. It is very healthy and just a baby. Will look up rudbeckia or echinacea.

Looked it up and I do believe it is a black-eyed susan afterall. I now remember digging up a baby last summer. I will plant it in the ground when it gets a little bigger. Thanks!!!!
