nicole, how long after sowing seed did you see bloom? That same Spring or the following? I've always hesitated planting packs of perennial seeds because I expect to wait so long on a mature plant that will bloom.

schoolhouse.....my lupines seem to be Miracle Grow dependant. :0) The bed must have a 1000 plants, but only the ones I put MC on bloom. The soil must be deficient. I'm getting plants the 1st season and blooms the 2nd; unless I don't put MC on "that" particular plant and then it "never" blooms. :0) AND...they reseed themselves. I didn't plant all of those plants! ha!

I am experimenting with using the little strip between the sidewalk and the street with a wildflower meadow patch. Here is how it looks at the moment:

I inherited this lovely lily (below) from the previous owner and each year it is getting bigger and multiplying. I have no idea what its name is but it is beautiful to me!

I really enjoy Queen Anne's Lace. The orchard used to be covered with it until I started to mow, however I still leave any patches or even indiv. QA plants that I see. Roadsides used to teem with it also, but alas roadsides are mowed too.
