Shower Fixed Glass Panel

I want to install a glass panel on this pony wall. It will only be about 3 ft x 3 ft. Can I accomplish this without screwing into the tile? Can I just attach the glass panel with silicone only? How will that look?

Leaving an opening for glass is more work for the tile installer but good planning will provide a very clean finish. The attached photo shows the vertical opening so the glass can rest on the stone deck.

Nope, realistically that must be mechaically fastened.

It needs to be secured with fasteners/brackets. Only using silicone would be dangerous as the bond could separate over time. Silicone-only might not even pass code in your area

I generally half step into my shower to turn it on. I usually just aim the shower head at the wall briefly until the water feels warm enough not to make me miserable. Mine isn't remodeled, but I suspect this will be about the same when I remodel.

No way would I attempt to install the glass, but my GC will have to install it. They will measure once the tiling is finished. I think I can use a 48" fixed panel with a brace/support, and not even have a door on the short side. The water would hit the glass. Is that a bad thing? Or do something like this with a bifold door in the front and a fixed panel on the short side. Onyx base has a dual threshold on two sides. Threshold is about 2"-2.5" wide so there should be plenty of room for the glass and frame. This glass enclosure is 33.25" x 46". There will be about a 1 7/8" gas between the folding door and the 90° back fixed panel. I guess this is semi frameless.

I apologize everybody. I am pretty new to all of this and it has been difficult to juggle it all. Thanks for all ur patience and advice ahead of time. Here is a picture of the overall plan. Unfortunately this is the cleanest copy I have of everything. The tub will be a square tub not the round one u see in the picture.

It could be done easily by leaving a groove. Your detail would have required setting the glass on the stone then completing the tile on the outside to lock it in place. Yes you are past this stage now but you could back track a bit by removing the two vertical sides only. Use care as to not damage the waterproofing.

Yes my bad as CTECT is 100% correct, many shower fixed panels are installed just that way woth a recessed channel but thsat needs to be planed for ahead of time. As he also states it is not too late but you would need to tear what you apart a bit.
