Last night's surprise
Comments (5)As we take over their habitat we learn more about what they do and their songs for many aspects of their lives. More varied and diverse than expected at times. The racoons voice their differences quite loudly in the middle of the night at times and can be surprising....See MoreGuess, what trouble I got myself into last night
Comments (14)Lumpy, you are right. The pink one in the back is Encyclia Cordigera. The tag says it smell like chocolate... I love chocolate scent! The Catt. in front is polka dot " Nalo". It is fragrant too. In this group, only the Dancing Lady " Sweet Ears" does not have scent. but it has pretty flowers... Majority of them have very healthy roots, only couple that start to have root rot issue. In general, these orchid are in much better/healthier condition than most moth orchids I have seen at Lowe's My guess is that these are U.S grow orchids, not like other orchids which may be shipped from overseas. I just repotted them with much fast drain orchid mix. Pray they'll survive. Sunshine, now you've mentioned it, I recall that I have never seen Lowe's carries B. nodosa and Maxillaria either till I bought them. All I've seen were the Catt. and Oncid. too just like what you've seen. Maybe these were in the back roll that I could have missed it. There is a very good orchid farm here, I usually get my orchids from them , not from Lowe's. I will browse for a bargain but will not seriously pay an orchid with full price at Lowe's. It may well be those Catt. and Oncid. etc. more showy flowers caught my eyes. Anyways, Lowe's must have had it somewhere. You might check your local Lowe's store again to see if you've missed them....See MoreI almost took off in someone else's car last night
Comments (26)I found this post by accident and couldn't stop laughing. What a relief to know that I am not the only member of the "wrong car club". I'm not even the only member of the "loading groceries in the wrong car" club, LOL. My husband is always pleading with me to please be more aware of my surroundings. My daughter and I loaded a weeks worth of groceries in someone else's car one time. I got into the drivers side and she got into the passenger seat and buckled up. We were both into our conversation so much we didn't notice someone elses fast food bags and jumper cables in "our" car. It hit us both at the same time ...mid sentence. We grabbed our groceries as quick as possible and ran.Unfortunately, in our hurry, we left our toilet paper in the back seat of the car. I've always wondered what the real owner of the car must have thought when he found an unopened package of toilet paper in his back seat....See MoreSo, we stooped to a new low last night....
Comments (10)I thought it was resourceful too but in a sad, funny sort of way. We have a utility sink that the washer drains into (so we can control the water flow down the main drain--it can't handle the big gush from the washer). We don't have a faucet or water hook ups on it. I'm thinking we should take the faucet off the old sink which is still in the garage and put it on the utility sink..... On the flooring situation, the cabinet guys came by today at lunch to look at our floor. We have having custom cabinets made so we know they deal with stain all the time. They said the floor stain application is horrible. Well, they didn't quite use those words but that's the message. They said the only thing that could be done is to sand it down and start over...just like we expected. They also talked about the application...they could tell how it was being done...and that it was wrong. They are offering to do the staining for us (for a fee I'm sure). They said to have the floor guy sand then to call them. But now we have to figure out how to handle it with the floor guy....See Moreyeonassky
