Help! New Toto Ultramax clogged and plunger doesn't work
Comments (7)Had the same problem with mine last week... it got clogged on Monday, and no amount of plunging would clear it. (Previously when it got clogged, vigorous plunging would fix it.) My super came with a snake and fixed it. Then it got clogged again on Friday! Twice in one week!!! Again, the plunger did nothing. I went to the hardware store and told them I wanted to buy a toilet auger (snake). They looked at me skeptically, but sold me a cheap auger ($10) and showed me how to use it. Not so difficult. Girls can use augers. Really. :-) I am disappointed in this toilet. I bought it because Toto in general, and the Ultramax in particular, had such a good reputation with regard to not clogging. I thought I'd be able to put my plunger in the back of the closet and not have to deal with it again. Well, I guess that's true. The plunger can go to the back of the closet while the auger sits in the front. :-( My guess, btw, about why the plunger doesn't always work - the opening in the toilet bowl is oval shaped while the plunger is round. I don't think the plunger is getting a good seal over the hole, so when I plunge, the water is rushing out above and below the plunger rather than being forced into the pipe. The vigorous plunging provides a good workout for me, but doesn't do a lot for the plumbing. I wonder if they make a better-shaped plunger......See Moreplease help se-270d doesn't read card
Comments (3)Hi tricialynn! First make sure the designs you are putting on the card are no larger than 4x4 and are in PES format. Look at your settings on your PED Basic. Then try transferring just one design. If this doesn't work, go to www.brother.com follow the links for home embroidery, downloads, and get the update for the PED Basic. If I remember correctly, I had to uninstall my basic, then use their version to reinstall. It sounds scary, but is really easy. Go check out brother site if you haven't already! Please let us know how it's going!I've had that machine almost a year now and love it! Lisa...See Moreocd gc doesn't like tile around window, help me please.
Comments (61)ptamom, florantha, fori, and trailrunner - thanks so muck for your feedback. Thanks holligator for the grout color feedback. I ended up trying to match the more beige tones in the tile to tone down the greens and yellows. I think it works. My one concern is that the sealer will make it darker. I don't think your grout looks lighter, just really great. muspic, I agree with you. I think once it is painted (later today) and the herbs are in place it will look fine. At least that is my hope. Thanks laurainlincoln. Staying strong here. It is a working kitchen, sayde. It's purpose is for serious cooking and not so serious enjoying of the cooking. It's about balance and I'm really trying to achieve that here. So here's the latest update....Finished tiling Sunday and grouting yesterday. Still have some touch ups and csulking to do today but he did it. When all was said and done he did say he was very pleased with the results. That's a very high accolade coming from him. Here's some pics! I love it! I love it so much I'm not even going to mind paint window trim today :) And I detest retailed trim painting because it's so time consuming. Thanks for all of your support. The end result was worth all of the angst. I'll post another pic when the herbs are in and it's what I hope it will be....See MoreHelp! Mixer lift doesn't work in cabinet!
Comments (27)Checked the Hafele (which is also the KV) it will fit into a 15" cabinet and also appears to fit your mixer.I wasn't able to get hold of CAD files for it. If I were doing the job I'd be in touch with KV rep, have found them very helpful in the past (but you may be left with customer support and I don't know how that will go) I also checked several cabinet mfg catalogs. FWIW Those that use the Hafele list minimum cabinet size of 15". FWIW I did get the CAD of the RAS -none will fit the cabinet with your mixer. Check the weight of your mixer first though. These don't hold as much as the RAS -the release mechanism is not as nice (PIA) and no soft close available AFAIK. As to the trash- RAS lists the minimum opening for the model you got as 15-1/2" for face frame. I always put in the 5349 series. The double 50 qt for that lists minimum opening of 15". You may also be able to just swap out the pails for others....See MoreR Sorensen
