Mealybugs on Passiflora caerulea
Comments (5)Did some checking to understand them myself in case they show up in my yard. You are already doing what you can but in case it begins to get expensive, then it seems that you could also control them with some dishwashing liquid and water solution. This will help remove their wax protection as well as suffocate them. Lady bugs are also natural predators of these bugs. I would try to keep the plants if you can, especially on the plants that currently only have a few. Another option is to cut down the passion vine and get rid of that entire stalk(s). I have actually controlled some pest issues on passion vine before by only allowing the vine to grow later in the season, when it was past the time for those pests to be on their larval feeding or egg-laying timeframe. In this respect, it's possible they latched on to your plants as a host because the vine itself was already growing and available from having been overwintered indoors and not losing any leaves or growth, compared to possible growing naturally outdoors at a certain time when this might have been able to pass by undetected. Comments (30)Here's ours, per your request. After 6 years it still looks like the day it was installed. no stains , chips or whatever and it still has that nice glossy finish (that we Love). By the way cloud swift, your granite is stunning and it tends to match your name. I would have liked something with that much colour, but the wife, unfortunately, is not into that sort of thing, although I'm happy with the compromise we made in getting the Arandis Gold granite. Best of luck fouramblues, on your upcoming decisions, We hope you are as happy with it after 6 years of use, as We are!!! Comments (24)I have heard that sink mentioned many times on this board but I actually looked at a YouTube video on it just now. No wonder you want it Mrs. Pete! i don't have much to add except to say that my kitchen in my house before this house had a setup a lot like your new house with the peninsula. I loved that kitchen. The corner between the sink and the dw was accessed from the other side of the peninsula. I kept linens, etc. there. the only thing between my sink and my dishwasher was a single trash pullout (same side as dw) whereas yours is right next to the corner. Does that make sense? It worked out very well. I stood to the left of my dw, in front of my sink and filled or emptied my dw and most of my dishes went right into uppers above on the wall to the right of my sink. I don't think you can have it so close to the corner, but that single trash pullout cabinet I had wasn't very big. It worked out well. frankly, it was a better setup than what I have now with my big sink and dw on my island as far as convenience. It sounds like you are worried about not having enough kitchen drawers if you go with this sink. if I remember right you have a large pantry that you could perhaps customize for some of your needs? I have pegboard that I use to hang a lot of my pots and pans. Will you have plenty of uppers?...See MoreHow I got rid of mealybugs
Comments (12)Soap for washing machines is so strong, I'm not surprised it harmed the plant :( I use ordinary dish soap you can wash the dish by hand with. I recently bought a new Laurentii and found some small unknown bugs crawling in the soil. Gave it a dishsoap bath aswell in warm water, and it's still doing fine a few weeks later :) Left it to dry hanging on radiator in the bathroom this time for an hour or two, and it got dry very fast and then repotted it in fresh soil. And no sign of bugs so far....See MoreJohn Stein
