We got some more ducks. Do you know anything about these breeds?
Comments (5)Ruthie, I just bought them for pets. I love ducks and I've only had muscovies and mallards and I wanted to get some different kinds and watch them grow up and then give them the best life possible for them. I didn't for no toher reason, I just want them for loving pets. Sullicorbitt, I bet they will be adorable! Send some pics when you get some! I'll send some of mine too when I get some!...See MoreDo You Know Anything About Mexican Bush Sage?
Comments (6)If that is Salvia leucantha, Mexican bush sage, it does very well in clay soils. It may die back to the soil, but should come back in Spring unless it was exceptionally cold. I prefer the S. leucantha "midnight" which is an all-purple flower stem. I don't know your zone well enough to suggest companions - in CA, poppies, primrose, verbena and other sages look good with it. I have it next in front of Tagetes lemonnii (lemon marigold bush) and the purple and gold look great together....See MoreDo you know anything about real estate staging courses?
Comments (15)Several years ago I took a four-class staging course at the local community college. The person who taught the class had her own business staging and was teaching this class for folks interested in selling their own houses, I believe. The course probably did not teach me anything I couldn't have learned by reading books, watching HGTV, etc., but I consider it worthwhile anyway because it was really fun. An added bonus was that some specific ideas did stick in my mind so that when I ended up having to sell in a hurry, I could. The teacher had a certification through one of the organizations that offers the more costly courses for professionals---so if you were to take a course, teaching DIY folks in classes like the one I took might be another source of income :)...See MoreOT, but do you know anything about Pandora-type charm bracelets?
Comments (46)lkplatow - what a lovely and thoughtful gift. I am sure your MIL will be thrilled. You will be giving a gift that can be built upon not only by you, but now friends and other family members can purchase a charm or two for special occasions. Someone posted about the other brands of this bracelet being inferior as they aren't solid sterling (for the silver as opposed to the gold Pandora). While I am not sure about Trolls or Brighton, I did check out Kohl's silver version of this bracelet. and it is, in fact, solid sterling. The price point of the Individuality Bracelets and beads (Kohls)is a more affordable option for anyone who wants this type of bracelet in silver, but doesn't want to spend Pandora-type $$. As far as the durability of the glass beads - I've had mine for quite a few years and haven't yet had a glass bead break or chip. I have both Pandora and other brand glass beads. I am very hard on my jewelry, and don't remove it to wash dishes, etc. I like that you've chosen the sea turtle charm as one of the starter charms for your MIL's bracelet. Very thoughtful to personalize the bracelet with something you do together as a family. As a matter of personal choice, I think this type of bracelet is so much more versatile than the "Nomination" or stretchy charm bracelet that came out about 10 or so years ago. While I do have one of those, I never wore it as frequently as I wear my Pandora. For me, it is like comparing apples and oranges. Since I have accumulated many different colored glass beads, so I can make combinations of colored beads mixed with the other charms when I want to compliment a color I may be wearing. Personally, I don't like my bracelet full of charms, but prefer it only half filled. Happy Holidays!...See MoreKathsgrdn
