That does seem rather large. My overhangs are 1.5 inches from the cabinet box, which I believe is pretty standard.

Standard is around 1.5", but I think it can vary a bit.

I think you'll be OK if your hardware isn't flush with your drawer fronts.

If I recall correctly, IKEA drawers have full-extension glides do I don't think the deeper overhang will be a problem for drawer access. In fact, you now have deeper workspace!

However, the sinks are a concern...over 4" can be a problem. I need to measure mine, but I know the counter in front of my prep sink is too deep b/c I do occasionally get a back ache if I work at it for an extended length of time. I'll measure later when I can.

No, it's worse if you're shorter!! Maybe nobody is comfortable stretching.

My sink front is 3 1/4" and my overhangs are 1 1/4 - 1 1/2".

Pal - the first thing I noticed with the first meal I cooked when moving into this house. No overhang. None. My countertops are almost flush with about 1/4" at the most. I can't get my hand under to catch crumbs as I'm cleaning up, and have actually opened a drawer to be able to do that. Trust me, opening a drawer when wiping up crumbs is counterproductive ;0)

Postform laminate tops are standard 25-1/2" or a 1-1/2" overhang. That does not mean it is "industry standard ". I was taught years ago, once I began working with better cabinets on nicer kitchens to have a 2" overhang whenever possible. Often that extra bit is needed for aisle clearance though.

Your sink set back is larger than I'd typically have. However if there are standard depth, as opposed to slim, tilt outs that might be needed. Depends on the sink and I have not done a silgranite in a very long time so can't say.

Yes. We're building kitchens here, not shooting telescopes into space.

I am a fabricator. Your variation of + and - 1/16" is good. Our normal overhang is 1-1/4" so yours at ~2" is relatively large. It's a detail a competent fabricator would review at some point in the process, typically at the field measure. I wouldn't reject it if you are otherwise happy with the quality of the work.

In one bathroom I did a 26" deep counter with a height of 34-1/4" (These measurements are to line up exactly with full tiles horizontally and vertically)

That sink is set 4" back from the front edge and it's not a problem, but it is a shallow vanity sink. (I am 5'4").

Our standard is 1.25" over the face frame of the cabinet. It can vary a bit below that or to as much as 1.5" 2" is pretty darn big.
