I'm a big ice water drinker, but truth to tell I also love sweet tea.

Plain seltzer very cold. The one healthy thing I have always enjoyed, never had to change to it for my well being. Drink at least 60 oz a day, close to the recomended water amount.

I like to keep a pitcher of lemon and cucumber infused water in the fridge. I find it so refreshing.

for me it is Ice water too. I hate Ice Tea but I like hot tea. I remember when we used to go camping and it was really hot, the only thing that quenched my thirst was a cold beer.

marcopolo, be sure that you visit your dentist regularly.....seltzer and other carbonated beverages are pretty corrosive to the enamel of your teeth. I don't even consider them all that healthy!

Iced Tea. Plain. Unsweetened. None of that "koolaid" flavored tea for me. Lots of ice is a must. That is my drink of choice for winter, summer, spring, and fall.

I like unsweetened iced tea. We usually use the regular tea. Sometimes, I'll make it with jasmine green tea, which is my favorite.

Green tea unsweetened over ice. Also like the infused water, watermelon/basil and lime/mint are favorites, though I make others. No sugar added.

An IPA is an India Pale Ale, a beer style devised by the British to better survive the heat in India. In warm temperatures normal beers quickly develop an off-flavor which is often referred to as being "skunked". The addition of more hops during the brewing process either made the beer more resistant to becoming skunked, or it added enough hoppy flavor that the "skunkiness" was masked.

For me water is the default go-to beverage. If I want something more I might go for an IPA, or perhaps a Caipirinha ( Brazil's National Drink, made with Brazilian Rum called cachaça sugar and lime. Although I often take a shortcut and mix cachaça with Simply Limeade) or another summer favorite that I "invented" many years ago is Dark Rum, Pineapple juice, Orange juice and Lime. After having several of them I decided that if the drink with Dark Rum and Ginger Beer is called a "Dark and Stormy" then my "invention" should be called a "Dark and Fruity"

Ice water is my go to beverage year round. I do drink coffee, but it does not quench thirst at all that I can tell. Occasionally when I am extremely thirsty and water isn't doing the job, I enjoy a Red Bull, the cranberry flavor is first choice, original is second choice. I don't care anything about the run of the mill carbonated beverages, they are way too sweet and tend to make me thirstier. Nor do I care anything about any drinks with alcohol, including beer. Sometimes I wish I did!

I am an iced tea drinker - unsweetened. There is always a pitcher in the frig, year round. I don't find anything else, including ice water, as refreshing as iced tea.

I also enjoy an ice cold beer on a hot day and I lean heavily to the IPA's. Now and again lemonade. And my go-to cocktail for hot weather is a Greyhound - grapefruit juice, vodka and a twist of lime.

Unsweet tea. When I'm on the beach I make sugar free lemonade with Realemon juice and Equal. Sometimes I make that at home too and add it to me unsweet tea. Once ina while I like a pitcher of lemon lime koolaid. It's getter harder to find around here.

Ice water with lemon slices or lime. So fresh and good. I do enjoy an occasional glass of fresh-brewed unsweetened iced tea and an occasional cold beer.

Water or unsweetened ice tea is my first choice. I like Pure Leaf brand. I make my own lemonade from my Meyer lemons. Once in awhile I like ice coffee. I might drink a Coke a couple of times a year.

Water and my preferred is cool, not cold. Ice cold and I can't drink it fast and when I'm thirsty, I want to chug.

I almost always have coffee in the morning and I like to sip on ice cold Dr. Pepper when it's hot outside.

I like unsweetened iced tea but it doesn't quench my thirst. The only thing that quenches my thirst is water so I always have some with me.

Water, home-brewed sweet tea, and homemade lemonade, in that order. Well, a cold light beer if we're grilling at night! :)

That sounds delicious, and of course the limoncello has to have been kept in the freezer.

I've never liked tea of any sort -- sweetened or unsweetened -- hot or cold. I just don't see the attraction. To me they taste like someone has crumbled up old leaves in water.

One cause of skunked beer is exposure to sunlight. That's why most beer bottles are tinted green or brown, that filters out the bandwidth of light that causes the chemical change. Leave a bottle of Newcastle Ale (clear bottle) in the sun for a few days and see the result when opened.

Rhizo, thanks for that tip. I have worked in a dental office as a CDA chairside assistant for 45+ years. Truly have never heard that about seltzer. I do know lemon will erode enamel if it makes direct contact with the teeth. Always ate the pulp on lemons if served with the seltzer. I know that was a bad habit. Living dangerously and never knew. :)

I'm a water drinker as well. No ice, cold or cool, room temperature. I drink it all day.

I do love a good iced tea......not the bottled/canned stuff; that's nothing but sugar. Would you all share your home-made iced tea recipes? Do you brew your tea out in the sun for hours? I know that's one way of doing it, but I've also read that it's not healthy, it can breed germs and bad things.

I've recently discovered water kefir, but this is a probiotic. The grains remove the sugars in juices, frozen and fresh fruit etc. I've been playing around with it. Sometimes I let it sit too long, and the fruit juice becomes more like wine, with all of the sugar taken out. I use grape juice, frozen juice concentrates, and frozen fruits.

The danger of seltzer to your teeth has been vastly overstated. Most seltzers are only very slightly acidic, and some are actually slightly alkaline due to mineral content (think Pellegrino). Not really a cause for concern.

As for my favorite summer drinks, seltzer is at the top of the list! For alcoholic beverages, I love a good dry rose. Not a fan of sweet drinks at all (at any time of year), other than the occasional lightly-sweetened iced coffee.

I make my ice tea with family sized bags (1 quart) of cold brew tea, either Liptons or Luzianne. I just put two or three bags in a gallon sized pitcher, fill with water and stash in the frig until ready to drink. I used to make sun tea as well but the cold brew bags are much faster - ready to go in 3-5 minutes. And I drink too much of it to get very fancy.........no actually brewing of tea leaves, etc :-) A gallon sized pitcher only lasts me a day or two at most, less in very hot weather.

If I want something sweet, my favorites are the San Pellegrino sparkling citrus beverages, specially the grapefruit and the pomegranate and orange flavors. All made with real juice.

Hot tea in the morning (like bengardening, I hate ice tea), water during the day (room temp is fine), ice cold beer with dinner. I usually mix my beer half beer and half soda water to save carbs and calories. I get two beers for the price of one!

Skunky beer is something we encountered quite often in Asia. Our theory was that the beer probably wasn't stored properly between the time it left the breweries and the time it ended up at it's destination. With the very warm climate in much of SE Asia, beer doesn't take long to acquire skunkiness which is quite a nasty surprise. I never could finish those beers and it was usually useless to try to explain to the servers/bartenders what the problem was.

Mixing beer with water means you get no beers for the price of one. Yuck. Why not just split the bottle or can with someone else?

Only thirst quencher for me is water. I don't drink iced tea. For pleasure I'll make an iced coffee drink and will never turn down a glass of wine or a summer cocktail.

I love sparkling lemonade.

Another lover of ice water! I like mine with LOTS of ice in it. If I must drink a soft drink, I'll only drink Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic). It really is delicious as it's not too sweet and it's nice and gingery.

Just a water bottle with half a lemon squeezed in. No sugar.

Absolutely. And I make my own Arancello from a miniature orange or calamondin I've had for over 45 years. Just the peels, steeped in grain alcohol (for a month...or a year....), strained, then diluted with simple syrup to about 30% ABV. Kept in the freezer. Lovely stuff on a warm evening....

Wink.........I remember that. I don't think I have seen it in years though. I like unsweetened iced tea or lemonade. I usually drink RC though. Horribly addicted.

I also like a margarita...frozen, no salt. But even one makes me feel groggy, so I seldom indulge.

I used to make sun tea, but we try not to drink so much caffeine these days. I also like to make a pitcher of sangria for summertime family gatherings.

I've also heard sun tea harbors bacteria. I cold brew mine..a gallon jug of filtered water from the frig, tea bags, amount depends on your strength preference, I use 7..cap it and put in frig. Done in about 6 hours. Carefully remove bags. I have found its much less bitter.

All this talk expecially about the limoncello reminded me I wanted to make lemon flavored simple syrup. Its delicious in tea, waffles, or jut a bit in ice water.

3teaspoons lemon zest

2 cups cane sugar

1/2 cup lemon juice..I use the juice I zested the lemons from.

1/2 cup water

Put everything in a stainless steel pot, bring to boil, turn down heat till its at a very low boil. Cook 5 minutes. Let cool, filter it, I use cheese cloth. Store in frig.

I love this in sparkling blood orange Sanpellegrinos over tons of crushed ice...yummmm
