I wonder if anyone on this list grows the found rose, "Windsor Tea"? RVR has it listed in their inventory. Although I can't find many photos online that are useful for identification purposes, yet, they do strike me as similar to this mystery rose? Are RVR's mystery roses plants they usually stock, but somehow they've lost the tags for? I only grow Ebb Tide and Abraham Darby. Ebb Tide is so-so, I wouldn't recommend it. Mine is not very vigorous in zone 6/7 -- Abraham Darby on the other hand is in my top 3 roses. It may even be my all time favorite. Color, form and fragrance are all great. It is just beautiful. I hear great things about Reine des Violettes but don't grow it so I can't comment, but it sure is beautiful.

I think that RVR uses roses from which the tags have been lost in their own stock as their "mystery roses." I have also noticed that they have a penchant for sending roses where the writing has "almost" worn off of their tags, so I suspect that has actually happened to them a good deal in their own stock. So, really, it could be anything on any of their lists, or actually, anything they were thinking about adding and never got around to actually adding. It is definitely not just the "free roses." Those Identities are known -- they just had more success in growing them than in selling them, hence their presence on the "free" lists. I think a lot of the roses they use as freebies are once bloomers that are pink, as they are the hardest to id, and I have several of those that I have received from them over the years. I have no use for pink once-bloomers, and they have been tossed.

Hi Anne. My Darlington has never looked liked that. Mine has less petals. The distinction for Darlington are the petaloids in the center like this photo from HMF. I also grow Walferdange (love that beauty) and your photo just doesn't seem quite right. I'm not sure how much your bloom has faded but Walferdange is more colorful.
