Stealth Bomber (FFO): Today was another strangely cool morning, so everything was slow opening and some were in sun when I took the photos as a result.

I love the edge on Aslan, looks like it's multicolored! Rose Kennedy is stunning today, Catastrophe Waitress looks great too. Indigo Edge seems extra white today, makes the edge look great, such a lovely bloom.

Man of Sorrows does very well here. On cloudless days, it can be very frustrating to get a good shot. The Catastrophe Waitress shot shows the many buds. I think you would agree though that the color is a little too bluish. Johnny Cash was never a great performer here.

Jean - The petals are not quite right on I'm Gonna Love You Through It. I was pleased with the color though. Mantis, Nancy and Nat - Mayans Dawn was pretty impressive today with its size and some gold teeth on that nice wide edge. The flowers on rebloom and not having the problem with excessive splotchiness. I guess it was due to heavy morning dew. Julia - I have been crossing the Black Falcon Ritual baby to UFs with watermarks. Unfortunately all those seedlings died of damp off this spring. Maybe next year. Sherry - Thanks for liking the first seedling. I'm hoping when I get it in full sun it's stats will improve. Kay - The Black Falcon Ritual seedling will never be introduced. It just doesn't have the budcount or the vigor it needs. I am using it as a parent though because it carries such good genetics. Debra

Here's a trivia fact for everyone: It's easy enough to assume that the song "The Man Who Shot LIberty Valence" was in the movie of the same name. It was written for the movie, but was not used. Gene Pitney.recorded the song and had success with it but it was not in the movie. The music track in the video linked to above is by Gene Pitney..

A cool bit of trivial for the MASH theme, Suicide is Painless, that I learned from Wiki a few years ago. The film's director, Robert Altman, tried to write a lyric to go with the Johnny Mandel music but got stuck. He asked his teenage son to give it a crack and he came up with something in less than 10 minutes. The second interesting tidbit about this is that his son made more money from his share of the writing royalties from use and sales than Dad made from directing the movie.

Kay, these are all lovely. I think I am going to have to get Catastrophe Waitress-just enabled from your photos!! If it performs well for you, surely it would for me (zone wise, I mean!) My Aslan just opened yesterday but has more cream color. And Indigo Edge remains stunning.

Thank you for looking and commenting. Actually, Mantis that is dead on the color Catastrophe Waitress here before the sun hits it...Indigo Edge, on the other hand has a little more red not enough blue to its edge. Kate that is the way it works. Debra is always posting something I just have to add. Man of sorrows opens slower when it is cool and it is more red than the photo shows.

Yes, a lot of them are taller, but the majority were normal...the short ones just seem to stand out. They mainly are the earliest ones though.

Lots of beauties, Kay. I think I like Catastrophe Waitress the best of the bunch. It always catches my attention when anyone posts it.

Catastrophe Waitress really is a beauty, love Rose F. K. and please show Indigo Edge as much as you like. I love the contrast on it.

I can't seem to see enough pictures of that Indigo Edge. So unusual for me as I don't like most pale daylilies. Great clump shots too.......Maryl

Beautiful clump shots! Catastrophe Waitress, Rose F. Kennedy, Citrix, and Emerald Starburst are my favorites.
