I need to replace the stem in this ASSE-1019

In order to avoid tearing out a bathtub (the line for this faucet runs right under it), I'd like to replace just the stem/knob on this ASSE-1019 outdoor hose faucet. I have been unable to identify the manufacturer or find the 11" stem for replacement. As you can see from the hodgepodge tape job, it spews water whenever it's turned on and no amount of tape, "generic repair kits", etc. has been any help so far.

Comments (6)So this year I posted in the thread that I had squirrels literally uproot my Naga Viper plants, looked like the gnawed at the roots and chewed some leaves. My situation seems to be worse than yours and my plants are doing great, it just took alot of time. I live in Bowling Green Ohio where there are 25-35 mph winds on the regular and this also rips leaves off my plants all the time. Most of my pepper plants have lost around 3-4 leaves each, big leaves and small leaves. Why did I post all of this? Its great to know that there is someone else out there who has experienced the same thing and have gotten through it. I think your plants will be fine but its going to be a little while for them to recover. Also, if you buy new plants, it takes time for the roots to catch so I feel as if youd be in the same position. Comments (0)We are replacing an acrylic shower unit with wonderboard/kerdi and ceramic subway tile. The unit doesn't go all the way to the ceiling and the walls of it are 1 1/2" thick. The shower handle is of course mounted on the acrylic shower wall, but the faucet is mounted through the drywall above the top of the shower unit. The 1/2" wonderboard will match up with the surrounding drywall (probably doing to the ceiling with the board and kerdi, but the drywall extends out past the face of the shower now). Then there is the thinset, kerdi, thinset, and 1/4" tiles on top (so about 1/2" I think). So the new finished surface will be about an inch back from where it is now where the handle is, and about 1/2" thicker where the shower head is. Does that make any sense? It just barely does even in my head... : The faucet is just a builder-grade , single handle Moen. I am replacing it with another single handle Moen. Can I get away with just putting the new ones on, or will the valves stems be too long/short? Or is there some other problem I'll have that I haven't even thought of? Comments (4)Paul: Shut off the water supply. Remove the handle, the nut behind the handle, then put a pipe wrench on the remaining nut right in front of the valve body.
