Repeat from another thread-- Did I get a scare when I went on my computer. I got all set and turned on my computer as usual. I can't remember if the welcome screen came but I ended up with a black screen with a dialog box saying: C\windows\system 32\config\systemprofile\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on the computer or on a network. Check to make sure the disk is properly inserted or that you are connected to the Internet or your network and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information may have been moved to a different location Then the message disappeared when I clicked OK and a black desktop with white blank pages in place of the icons were there and the start button with a few of the system tray items. I didn't have the option to shut down (that I remember) so pressed the power button and it blinked so I hit it again or I did the Ctrl, Alt, Delete and the computer booted up with the welcome screen and came up normal. WHEW! That is all I need? What do you think that was all about? Could it have been caused by the updates I did yesterday before I shut down? Windows 7 64bit

I re-installed the OS and sp3 and Internet Explorer 8. I've got it down to this error: Service registration is missing or corrupt http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971187 The automatic fixer doesn't fixit and I don't understand the manual instructions. It wants me to look at a registry key but doesn't specify EXACTLY which one. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\(sid)\Patches\(squid) replaced with ( and ). How do I find SID and SQUID? The height of your panels works for the room, leaving the arched top window to be a view to the sky. Is there a reason to go higher? if so you can do an arched to set of panels or top treatment. Please keep in mind that you have at least 1 more window in that spacey and if you do a higher treatment on that window it may bring down the height of the room and be unbalanced with the other window(s). I agree that shades inside mounted would look good if you need light blockage, and I prefer to have panels out further to each side exposing more of the glass. .....Did that help any?
