Tomato Leaf Curl, Yellow Spots, Yellow Leaf w/ Brown Spots
Comments (8)The plants in self-watering containers and in 5-gallon grow bags are both exhibiting the leaf roll. However, I do have 2 5-gallon grow bags that have plants in partial shade which do not exhibit leaf roll and are just as big, if not bigger, than those in the self-watering containers. I'm thinking the leaf roll may be root stress related. Either the 5-gallon containers/bags have become too small, the container gets too hot thus stressing the roots, or the potting soil has finally compacted and isn't delivering enough oxygen to the roots. I have tomato plants in raised beds as well and I haven't noticed any leaf roll with them. I have noticed a few had yellowing leaves w/brown spots (3rd picture), however....See MoreYellow Spots on Tomato Leaves
Comments (2)Thanks for the reply, Dave. I Googled "Gray Leaf Spot," but it looks different to my eye. My issue is yellow spotting, while the Gray Leaf Spot seems to result in small, circular, brown spots. I'll take a look at the undersides of the leaves when I get home. I remember seeing, in previous seasons, signs of webbing among some of the marigolds I plant around my tomatoes as deterrent to the Tomato Hornworm. I will say that the sweet pea damage I posted does look very different than what I'm seeing on my tomatoes, so I probably shouldn't confuse the two in the same question. Thanks. -Ray...See MoreYellow Spots on Tomato Leaves (still in starter pots)
Comments (2)Could be sunburn ... based on the general lean, I'm guessing the yellowed leaves are on the sunnier side. The plants may have been previously in a shadier location or not fully hardened off, causing their new sunnier environment to burn some of the leaves a bit. If it is sunburn, they'll be fine, though you may want to give them a bit more shade and ease them into the sunnier conditions....See MoreLeaf curl and yellow spots on tomato leaves
Comments (1)So I've been growing some beefsteak (I think) tomato plants indoors, mainly for fun, but I do want them to do well. They've seemed to develop some leaf curl, and those leaves have gotten kinda bumpy, like they're crinkling up almost, along with yellow-ish spots? Sorta along the veins on the leaf. The newest growth they have seems to be unaffected, but I don't know if it'll stay that way. I've tried researching what this is but nothing I've seen looks exactly like this? Not sure. If anyone could help me out that'd be very nice! - If it helps, they're under a LED growlight in a windowsill that doesn't get much direct sunlight. I just transplanted them into bigger containers (solo cups with holes in the bottom lol. Couldn't find actual pots to buy, but these are temp.) I put them in a mix of Miracle-Gro potting mix & ecoscraps natural + organic potting mix. Thier two first true leaves were getting a bit yellow before I moved them, but I chocked that up to me not being able to transplant them fast enough, I had grown them in cut up egg carton and they got much too big for it and I couldn't move them right away. They seemed to grow fine after that though, and they're still growing. Also I didn't take them out of the egg carton because they had grown into the bottom of it a bit, so I just cut off what I could without touching the roots and stuck them in there with it....See MoreUser
