I have Merillat 18" wide cabinet (15" door) with FE slides. Ordered the double bin - it's made by Rev-a-shelf (at least the bottom of the bin says so I noticed when I emptied the recyclables). I can't see a model number, but it has 35 qt trash cans, looks exactly like above. I have no space behind or below to store anything. And it may be Merillat's installation, but it seems that the door doesn't close as tightly as the doors that are on hinges. I think if you want storage you might have to go with single bin and/or bottom mount - I don't see how you can get storage with top-mount double like I have. I did see on Rev-a-shelf's website that they're offering lids and gaskets now, but again those my only work with bottom-mount try. HTH.

Casey: "touch latch" is a good term. Also push latch. JLC: The Australian site posted by JLC has a good review of handle options, including mentioning recessed grooves to grip fingers into. -- The link above is for Besta, which I bought and tried. It doesn't work with Metabox slides that Ikea uses in kitchen drawers. ---- Explanation why touch latches do not work: Metabox has a Self-close "bump" that grabs the drawer when it is sliding closed. To open the drawer, this bump prevents it from opening unless 5lb. force is applied over a specific distance from about 0.75" to 1.5" away from the cabinet. We don't feel this force when we pull since we can use our whole body. The distance to travel is too great for a push latch, and the force required may also be too large. Secondly, a touch latch needs a 0.125" distance "at rest" to reset itself, but the Metabox self-close presses the drawer front against the cabinet too hard to give much room to play with. ajsmama: If I had started with Tandem, things might be different. I don't know about Tandem's self-close bump. - -------- I'll stick with Ikea's (or Blum's) Metabox since I got the cabinets and slides from Ikea already and am now comfortable with them. On the drawer front, I can remain handle-less by adding a horizontal strip (like a Schluter profile) to grip from above, making the drawer front a bit taller. It works for me since I'm customizing this part of my installation anyway.

I agree with you- I think pullout shelves are better. Though, unfortunately I can't tell you from personal experience, as my carpenter is telling me that they will be delivered tomorrow morning first thing- (if I had a dime for every time he's promised delivery- been waiting since February!) Anyhow, I do have the pantry pullout on one side of my floor to ceiling cupboards (have 18" cabinets on either side of fridge). I had to get that as I wanted space to hang brooms, mops, vacuum attachments, etc, and I could get a side mount pullout attached to one side, leaving room on the other side. The problem is access, even though it is full extension, you have the shelf above hampering your reach. I guess it's not a problem if you have lots of space between shelves, but then what's the point in that? My pullout shelves will be about 4" deep, with a half circle cutout in front- if they do arrive tomorrow, I can take pics- I am SO looking forward to having them installed- been using 16" deep shelves in a 24" deep cupboard, pain in the butt to reach to the back to access items. As you can see, shelves made just a little too wide!!!

loves2cookfor6's pull-out is beautiful! I guess it really depends on the space you have available. Full pull-outs only seem useful if they are quite narrow. The beauty of individual pull-outs is that you have access to the items from both sides, FRONT and TOP. I like pulling an item off the shelf without having a shelf above blocking access and light. In my mind, the full pull-out doesn't function much differently from fixed shelves except for giving access to 2 sides. I used to love going into Ikea showrooms and opening the full pull-outs. They were fun and seemed so clever! But when it came time to choose a 15" wide Ikea pantry for our laundry room, I abandoned the full pull-out (which I really thought I wanted) for the practicality of the individual pull-outs. I couldn't think of a single functional reason for getting the full pull-out. In our house, having drawers on the bottom of our kitchen pantry works well since only the bottom drawer is blocked if something is left on the floor in front of the pantry. I keep my most used items in the front of our pantry shelves. I just have to open the cabinet doot to grab one of these items instead of pulling out anything.
