I like these type of faucets - I think they have a slightly industrial look - and they don't look like some of the big, bulky faucets that look like they've been consuming too much beer and pasta.

I bought a $200 version of this. $500-800 seems crazy expensive.

The magnetic docking of the Kohler sounds like a good concept, but I'm not sure if it's worth the higher cost.

I was going to add the joke that for $800, it better wash the dishes... of course for that you really could buy a decent dishwasher.

Those are disparate styles. Given that quality among them is pretty much the same, which one matches your kitchen style best?

Grohe is a good brand. I"ve considered some of their other pull-down styles.

Of these, I think the Kohler is the tallest with the longest reach. Reach is something to consider with whatever sink you have since you usually want the stream to hit the drain and not be too far or not far enough and end up splashing everywhere.

Don't know it you can see these directly, but it looks like the Grohe has a metal-sleaved hosed (maybe) and the Kohler has a multifunction head of metal.

Aliceinwonderland - how are they disparate styles? They look pretty much the same to me.

My kitchen is not ready yet, renovations just began. I am going for a "farm" look, but not too "farmy" if it makes sense. White shaker cabinets, carrera marble countertop, mid tone hardwood floor and white subway tiles with delfi style accent tiles. I guess what you see pretty much everywhere nowadays.

Jake the wonder dog: which one did you buy? I have never bought a faucet before -never needed to. My contractor, a pretty down to earth guy who works with middle class families (not rich or fancy houses) what the one who recommended either Moen or Kohler.

From a style standpoint, these all have a similar commercial kitchen / slightly industrial feel to them. The Kohler uses more curved lines and rounded pieces to it -- softening it a lot.

The Moen has a very clean contemporary look.

The Grohe is a little softer, without being as round and curvy as the Kohler. The Kohler just doesn't seem at all right to me - it's seems really inappropriate to add all those curves and bulges to this style of faucet.

What I used was a brand I've never heard of off of Amazon. I think the big box hardware had similar. There's also this Kraus.

My limit on my kitchen faucet was ~ $200 . I know that people spend a lot more than I had to spend on a kitchen... but there it is.

I like Moen because they have good customer support and replaced my 12-year old faucet for free when it started to leak. I also have a Hi-Arc Hansgrohe that I got for less than $200 from Costco that I am quite happy with, and it came with a lifetime warranty.

So, I headed to Ferguson to check the faucets and their finish (couldn't picture what "polished nickel" looked like) and I am so glad I decided to check in a brick and mortar store because I took an immediate dislike for the faucets I had previously set my eyes on! The kohler one is HUGE!!!! And because of the industrial style, it is not just its height that makes it imposing. I think my kitchen is too small for it - it would completely overwhelm it.

Also, I really did not like the fact that the hose doesn't come down much - is not retractable. There is no much giving if you know what I mean.

I thought it was annoying.

in polished nickel finish. The height is about the same as the previous one, but the faucet is less imposing. Also the how is pull down.

I would like to buy a side spray to install on the sink as well and I am having a hard time finding it. I will start a new thread about this:)

Style wise, I think that's much more in keeping with what you described your kitchen was to be.

All of these types of faucets are designed to eliminate the need for the separate sprayer.

well this is funny, I am debating on the exact same grohe and moen faucets... may I ask which you went with and are you happy with your choice? Hope to hear back, planning to order tomorrow!
