What's wrong with my calathea?

I bought this plant a few months ago. Had it in a nice spot inside. It seemed happy. I re-potted it to a bigger pot and it went ballistic, grew heaps of new leaves. Then they started doing this. I pruned them off. Other leaves followed suit. I thought it was going to die, and fearful that maybe it was diseased and might infect my other plants I moved it outside (I live on the Gold Coast in australia, warm and humid although temperature has no dropped to high of 25 degrees, low of 16). I have continued to water it (a thorough dousing once a week). It has survived, surprisingly and after some liquid fertiliser it has started sprouting new leaves but these, too, have the brown edges. I have no idea what to do?? Any help??
