use the HTML codes in your post... on preview.. if you see it.. we will see it if you already sprayed it for bugs ... then you do not spray again ... is it a recent transplant where are you did you spray it in full blinding blistering sun .. how hot was it? what is the mystery spray ... isnt it planted awful close to the house... or did you fail to mention its potted ... how big is the pot ... whats the potting media.. was it recently repotted?? ... did you recently fertilize it .. welcome to GW ... need more info ... ken

Another plant death has fallen upon my household. This time it was my precious little plant that has been miraculously been growing well for almost half a year. The day before yesterday it just suddenly started wilting and the bottom of its stem started turning brown and woody, and now today I've noticed that the water under it's self watering pot has stop going down. Another death to my hands... and I was so proud of this one. Its the highest plant I've ever grown and now it's just dying before my eyes. I don't think I can save this one. I'm gonna miss u planty ;_;

Agree with Matt, leaves look rotting but are also sunburned. Rot wasn't visible in other photos. Many of the leaves are sunburned toward the tips... I wouldn't worry much about looking for turface and/or bark unless they are easily found. I went thru all of that (as many others did); found turface but not too lucky with bark (lots available, but is too large - 2" and bigger). So I settled for mix I use, with ingredients I mentioned in previous post (including photo I posted). BTW, I have read all posts by Al. I am very strong 'believer' ...but if you understand principle, you can make excellent mix using materials easily available, without going crazy looking for exactly the same...For example: Al's recipe doesn't call for perlite. But knowing perlites water holding capacity, one can figure out what it is good for and use it as a substitute for substrate not so easily found. There are many other substrates that are excellent if used in making well draining mix.

did you dampen the cactus mix before planting in it??? ... so that all the roots are touching moist but not wet media???? your best bet is probably to start a new one .... and leave this one alone.. and see what happens to it ... it either lives or dies ... but continuing to stress it.. with more an more remedies .. might not be best ... its extremely stressed ... and its not hungry.. so fert isnt going to do anything with it ... anyway.. time for some guacy .... and a new pit ... its your tree ... not a baby ... be happy you got a few years out it.. and move on.. emotionally ... it really is a full sun outdoor plant ... and no matter what you do.. it isnt going to be a long term indoor plant ... some peeps might get away with it ... but many dont ... ken
