Space Coast Eye For Passion bloomed for the first time today:

Don't know why it looks yellow, because it isn't.

Marseilles Watercolor is blooming today

so is Texas Carnival Dance:

Bill Watson, Fernstone and Colorado Moonstone are showing out as well today, but won't wear you out by posting again.

You may remember, My spouse and I lost our Chihuahuas three weeks apart last year, Sugar, my baby was 15 1/2 and a half, and Spike, his boy was 17 1/2. I am in the process of turning a space into "The Puppy's Garden." There a few strawberry plants, some in ground plants, ad a lot of hanging baskets. I will be putting a new bird bath there, and several lawn ornaments have been placed there. It is a work in progress and is in the area with the New Dawn rose.

I have now removed the clumps of daffs, and the iris are next. I will replant the daffs in singles and plan for tulips in the fall. I have a half dozen lavender plants, and some more million bells to plant there still, and I will be putting down a lot more mulch as well.

How sweet to do a puppy's garden. Temps are up and down here with the extended forecast after Monday showing us back in the 50's. I'm tempted to get my annuals this coming week but given the forecasted nighttime lows I may have to change my plans. Still a lot of weeding and edging to finish anyway and that darn lawn (weed lawn really) needs to get cut again.

We bought a new lawn mower this last Wednesday and DH is very pleased with it. His back is bad, but he said he didn't even notice the back at all cutting the grass (weeds here too) on the new mower. Those little dogs were special to us for so long, I just decided to celebrate them. Thanks julia

Aqua-that's too bad you can't find them locally. If you're willing to try mail order, I've had a lot of success ordering from Casita Azul at www.ilovehostas.net. They have a great selection and I was pleased with the plants they sent me.

Like Sherry, I don't usually like orange, but I like Winners Trophy. I say I don't like oranges, but they seem to reach out & grab your attention, so I have quite a few. Like Citrix, I really like the look of it. It was new last year, I'm hoping it does even better this year. I had Wild One once, don't remember it dying, but don't remember seeing it bloom. Increased Complexity is a beautiful color, if I had to pick one color for my daylilies, that would be it. I always like the pattern in Water Drops too. Why did I start picking my favorites of these, they are all wonderful.

Very nice Kay. I have had Lava Flow with triplets, Otis Dodson with triplets and my first Siloam Double (Single) Classic open this weekend. Tried to get some good pics but wind was so strong, I could not get a single one without wind effects. I also spent a good hour tracking down my empty pots that were hurdled across the yard and into neighboring yards and pastures. Maybe I should have taken pics of that and documented that as my first lily blooming weekend. Still very windy today but I will take that over tornadoes and storms. Heartbreaking for so many in the south this weekend. Your new garden looks to be shaping up very nicely. Kate

Thank you Mantis...there are two baskets hanging high and they balance each other. Lilykate, it is annoying to be unable to get photos when blooming first begins. Sorry. We were very blessed as all we had here was a lot of needed rain. I have a small plot with peppers and it is looking really good now. The rain was appreciated.

Marseilles Watercolor looks perfect in your photo. Spacecoast Eye for Passion is a pretty one, even if the photo does show more yellow than in real life. The Puppy's Garden is looking good too! I've been reworking two of my gardens, lifting plants and digging the Bermuda grass out by hand. It's slow going, but I know it will be worth it in looks and plant performance.
