Container growing Spondias purpurea (Spanish Plum)

I'd like some input on the possibility of growing a Spondias purpurea (Jocote, Ciruela, Spanish/Hog Plum, PURPLE MOMBIN) tree in a large container.

Real estate in my yard has become somewhat scarce and this plum tree can get large over time. My wife, and most of my family, is crazy about these plums and I'd like to grow one but in a container to keep its size manageable and easier to pick fruit. It also affords me the flexibility of moving it to another area of the yard if need be since it needs lots of sun.

We had a Jocote tree in our home in Miami but storms always knocked it over and then I was left with the roots to deal with. Also when the tree is leafless, it's pretty ugly.

Anyways, how would it fair in a reasonably large container? I bet I could get a good amount of fruit out of a well fertilized/maintained potted tree compared to neglected typical yard versions.

How large a container would I need? Not expecting a large tree, more like a large shrub size.

Thx
