I'm Fed UP!!!! Digging up ALL my brugs!!!!
Comments (29)Lol, poor Daniella. Ask him if he will do my laundry too. I throw it all in together and everything looks like crap, lol. I was telling John about this and he said ohhh good idea about the pots and the roots now that winter is coming he is wanting to bring in more of them so he is liking the idea of burying the pots in the ground then lifting the pots for the winter. He forgets before we did all these flower beds and I told him about this he told me I was crazy and why would I want to dig a hole and buy a pot. Just put the dang things in the ground and leave them there he said, lol. How soon he forgets now that he is getting excited that they are going to start blooming, lol. I bet we have sunken pots next year, lol. The one I had last year bloomed in the garage nearly all winter long. I think he is remembering that and realizing all those in the ground are going to have to be cut down and he will miss them blooming. Who wants to make a bet he digs up some of his to bring in the house instead of cutting them, lol....See MoreBuyer's remorse: did I make the right choice?
Comments (3)I'm sure you'll be happy with it and can't imagine there would be much difference in picture quality between these two cameras. Like you, I have a nice Canon that I rarely take out of the pack (it takes great pictures when I do!) and a small Nikon that I keep in my purse at all times. I love the pictures I take with the little cheapie Nikon wouldn't give it up for anything!...See MoreRose Question to Dig up or Not?
Comments (5)It's too hot even here in MI to transplant roses right now. Wait for fall and cooler weather. Use BIG pots! As big as you can find and handle. And lots of drainage holes in the bottoms. If they only have one drill some more. I prefer the plastic or resin pots because they are much lighter. And find some of those wheeled pot trolleys to put them on. It will save your back! DA roses are notorious water hogs. They were bred in Merry Old England where it rains a lot! You may just need to water yours a little more or more often for them to do better for you....See MoreS.O.S. Someone please tell me I don’t have to dig up my rose
Comments (10)Katusha, I think all of us that chimed in were correct: that's just mature wood. You would probably have needed to take it out in the next couple of years to encourage new, more productive growth. You jumped the gun a bit, but I doubt you've done permanent damage. You haven't said where you live. If you're in a cold-winter area, you may lose any new growth the rose makes this summer/Fall. Don't worry too much, just be sure sure to remove any winter kill in the Spring, as is might cause canker that can spread down to the rootstock. If you're in an area with little to no freezing winter temps, you're probably in the clear, and a year ahead with any new canes that arise. Best of luck. And by the way, if in doubt, it's best to come here for advice BEFORE picking up the pruners, lol. John...See Morevickysgarden
