I loved it. The season finale was violent, but I didn't feel like it was gratuitous violence. The violence was the story and how the violence will shape the characters paths is the story. Meredith, with the help of Christina and Izzie, got up and showered and acted like everything was normal after the bomb. She has never been a weak, crybaby character(not that mourning a miscarriage would be weak.) But emotionally, she has been dark & twisty. I don't think it is at all out of character for her to soldier on during her miscarriage. In the flashbacks of her with her mother, you see Ellis raising a kid who would just "be extraordinary." Avery(the good-looking doc) has already made a play for Yang before at the party earlier in the season and again at the hospital the day after the party. I think with the Teddy/Owen/Yang triangle over(Owen chose Christina,) Owen/Yang/Avery will be the new triangle. Avery showed confidence in Christina in making the decision that she would operate on Derek without any of the attendings. She loves that validation and some of her biggest fights with Owen have been about him not having her back. Avery would be a new romance chapter for Christina, as she has always been with teacher/mentor/superiors. While he does have the powerful family connection, he is only a resident and therefore an equal on a professional footing.

My kids watched ER consistantly. I quit when they lost major characters. Grey's was fun at first. Although I still watch it and read that the final this season was very similar to ER. Grey's gets irritating with story lines changing or not completed. And I have an issue with the dialog. All the actors use the same sort of a "Valley Girl" copy cat voice. It isn't like Vallery Girl speak, but one that every actor on Gray's uses. The director must have a thing with this, it is a voice which hesitates between words or emphasizes specific ones. Sometimes this keeps me from focusing on what is being said. I read an article from "real" interns that said they would never have had the time to get into all the adventures Gray's has. It is well overblown. Still, I keep watching and hoping. Like Christina and her new beau...not sure why. Glad Ditsy is off of there.

I am heading off to bed, but I did watch the show just now. I enjoyed it. The striking scene was, of course, of the mother who had lost her son determining to sit vigil for the lone survivor, a little girl, till her family came. I find it believeable for one family to do such a kind and caring act, but I found it too scriptish that several families would stay, and that their "secret" did not come out from personnel coming in and saying something or the press. Derek's going off without Meredith to camp at the house site seemed silly on his part to me. And Meredith seemed like a good mommy already. It will be interesting how they use April, the new chief resident. One of my favorite characters is Bailey, and I was impressed with the steps she took to protect her son. My other favorite is Christina, and she was true to form tonight.

I think they jumped the proverbial shark. Only because I doubt the show will be on much longer & I feel they're kind of grasping at straws just to shock us. Now it's too sad. Way too much drama. It's not fun anymore like it used to be. G.A. is known for their excellent comedic writing along with drama. Why in the world would they get rid of Lexie and Mark over Arizona? Then bring in a newbie (the girl who did the appy) over those we already cared for? Apparently she'll have a lot of story. Ditto about Kepner. Why her over the one's who died? I'll still watch though. I'm addicted!
