If you have a Honda CR-V, do you like it?

I am considering buying either a subaru suv or a Honda CRV and would like to hear anyone's opinion of it. thanks

Yes and I love mine! It is a 2008 model CR-V and I've had no trouble with it at all.

I have a 2014 I was worried 4 cylinder would not have much power. i was wrong car has all the power I need. Love the gas mileage mine was certified by Honda. Came with back seat DVD player I never use, but love the heated seats.

The best Honda mowers were built in the mid 80's to early 1990's but the new ones are ok the quality just isn't there like it was in the older models.The auto choke feature performs poorly and alot of plastic is used now on the new models.I think the new Honda mowers are over priced for what you are actually getting. If I were you I'd do my homework and really investigate before shelling out my cash blindly. I bought the Honda powered Husqvarna 7021P 3in1 push mower 4 years ago now and for $300 cdn it has been an amazing mower! Only issue is the Honada motor,the auto choke sticks and I had to replace the pastic recoil that gave out all after warranty ran out.

Hi 80810snut, I didn't see any benefit to the commercial machine given our usage: we wanted drying because we unload the dryer into our cabinets. The pro-speed cycle plus drying time = express cycle time on the residential machine. So, for our dishwasher there was no difference in timing on a program that included drying. Yes, 2K vs. 5K was also a big consideration. Even if I was saving 20 min. per day, I wouldn't pay the extra 3K given how we do dishes usually: after dinner and don't unload until after an hour of TV, so an extra 10-20 minutes didn't seem to make any difference and the cost is astronomical. In a commercial setting with continuous use the extra $$ makes sense, but we're usually doing 1 load a day, maybe 2 max except for special occasions. For special occasions (lots of cooking) I can do an express short load in 23 minutes... that's 4 minutes longer than the equivalent load on the 8083. I decided I could deal with an extra 4 minutes *shrug*. IOW 3K>4 minutes. Also, repairs: I figured if anything went wrong I would be able to more easily find residential repairpeople who knew the residential units. Hope the above helps.

I use a mandolin but any basic peeler with the cucumber flat on your cutting board and slice away from you works great for a few. These are the peelers I purchased instead of a spirally-gig a few years ago. They all have their issues. The matchstick Titan brand gets jammed every pull. They all work fine for small amounts. I have a couple big stainless French mandolins but now use the Japanese Benriner. Every chef and restaurant has them in multiples. I have the newer model. No one is allowed to purchase without a pair of 'no cry' gloves. Only need to wear the glove on your veg holding hand. I usually have one in the clothes washer bin and the other in the prep drawer. (gloves are flat so no left/right) It is adjustable turning a big wheel underneath. Paper thin to thicker pickle chips. I can zip through lots of veg in a couple minutes. Comes with three different blades. Thicker chips for dips ... Like any tool, learning curve. I'm prepping a massive amount of veggies for Sunday. SpringRolls, a big batch of quick pickles...veg chips for dips, giant salad, quick pickle sauerkraut and a fresh slaw. ReubenSandwiches RussianDressing, grilled like paninis. As well as the traditional American corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, etc. I'll zip through the veg in no time. Spirally-gig next to the sink...mandoline on main prep zone.

We have a Sleep Number bed, so old that the company was still called Select Comfort. It must be at least 20 years old, maybe 25. It's king size but has two air mattresses inside, so each can have the firmness they desire. My side has a slow leak that is getting worse, but the pump still works fine so I can reinflate it whenever I want. They have lots of models including ones that stay cool and ones where the head can raise and lower. We love it, and when we finally decide to replace it we'll probably get another one. Donna

I love my Honda CR-V, which is a 2004 and has about 158,000 miles. (By the way, mine has the side-opening rear door, as opposed to the newer lift-gate.) On the other hand, I do NOT love the dealer service department, which I find overpriced and having a tendency to recommend unnecessary work.

Example: When I took the car in for a recall repair, they gave me a list of $1100 of work that was "needed." Our regular mechanic looked at the car and said I could use their list to line the bottom of a birdcage. As a result of this and other service-related experiences with the dealer, I am leaning against buying another car from my local Honda dealer and may go with an Outback, Forester, or RAV-4.

Keep buying the Honda but forget the dealer service. It's always padded. Find a good independent mechanic who does a lot of work on Hondas, and you'll be fine. Our CRV is a 2014 and it's a great car. I have had Hondas since 1976, and they have all run forever. we sold a couple early, only 100K miles, one we sold at 165K and it's still doing well---it replaced a friend's Accord with 330K miles!---and another at 260K.
