I am not sure what you are worried about as the plants look OK. Make sure they dry between waterings as I have had a few rot on me from too much water. They are one of the harder Astros to grow well in my experience.

How were the roots when you repotted? I have never had a problem growing Astrophytums. I wouldn't freak out yet:). Could be a little transplant shock.

Yeah, I think I might've watered them a bit too much. Looking back I should've known better. I think I was too excited. I just hope they don't rot! Or, maybe it's just transplant shock...

I did the same thing this weekend. I got my first Conophytums and I was so excited I watered them. Looking back I probably should have left them alone. Dry Gardens has some pretty big Astros right now. I can't wait till mine are huge. I'm gonna be waiting for decades tho;).

Pagan, I'm excited! Tell us how old yours is... I get the feeling it's larger than mine!

They're failed Kabutos. That is, the guy was breeding Super Kabutos but the target perfect markings only show up 1 percent of the time I think. So he was probably unloading the meh ones. I only just got them last summer. Cacti are severely under-represented on my bench so I've started looking up the kinds I might like. So far I've only ruled out big stab-ey monsters.

Still alive, but i know better. They finished absorbing their leaves. The leaves are like paper. So they're plump, but I just couldn't help myself I had to water them. At least the mix they were in was dry as a bone.

They don't carry on growing spherical, more like a plump disc. Google images of it to see.

During watering make sure the soil is dry. And when watering make sure water top down means shower the whole plant and watch the soil see how fast the water soak in. (Faster the better if water stagnant and very slowly soak in, soil could be too dense, u may want to fix it). While drenching your plant make water drain out from the drain holes. During this process air will be drawn in to the soil. Good for the roots. The roots must have a good soak. Hope this help.

Pagan is right. Don't water on a schedule....and I think once a week for a cactus, in a plastic pot, potted partially with C/S soil, may be too much. Depends on how much soil you have in there. I only have three spherical cactus plants, but they are all in terra cotta pots, in totally inorganic mix (pumice, manna pro grit, turface 2:2:1), and outside 24/7 -- and they get watered every 6-7 days. They can survive being a little thirsty, but they will not survive being over-watered. Yours look very nice and healthy.

No worries everyone, I am not watering on any schedule. I don't do that to any of my plants. Just let my excitement get the better of me lol!
I may amend the mix later on to just pure pumice. I like grit, but it makes the pot too heavy.

Pagan: regardless, you've got nice ones! The one on the left looks like it has a dent too. I don't have much cacti either and I've got a phobia of needles so no stab-ey ones for me! Perhaps you might like spineless prickly pear? I don't think those are suitable for indoor growing though. tephrocactus articulatus inermis doesn't have spikes, and Mammarila Plumosa feels like feathers.... :)
