Wow I hadn't expected such a response, but I appreciate everyone's concerns. I love the rendering and I think thy will to! I feel kind of bad that everyone thinks I am getting taken advantage of so I thought I would elaborate just a bit. The "client" is my husbands grandpa who is in his eighties and has a hard time getting around. That is actually why the house got remodeled was to make everything handicap accessible. My husbands aunt takes care of him, but she also has a small clothing shop she runs so she is very busy. With all this in mind and knowing thier limitations physically and for time they are going to engage someone to do the yard work. They don't care about the initial setup cost and are aware that it will be pricey they just don't want plants that are going to look unkempt if they aren't tended to each month like say roses can get. The main problem that they have had will my drawings and suggestions is they are worried some of the plants I suggested will look messy without a little extra attention. I hope that sets everyone's mind at rest. The reason I came to this forum was for some fresh eyes. Sometimes just getting a different perspective can be inspiring. Lavender_lass, I don't know the details about your mare and little one, but it sounds HORRIBLE. I am so sorry you've lost your baby. And I hope the little one(s) recover. On another note, I can't decide if it's a blessing or a curse to be so easily recognizable. What if I want to go incognito? Huh? Ahhh well. It's a good thing that even IRL I stand behind what I say. I remain someone you either totally dislike, or get to know me and love my snotty little soul. :) Things continue to improve, although it's interesting that improvements involve giving back what we had in some form on GW. Being their first real venture into forums, I think they're doing a heck of a job. These boards are absorbed along with some very notable boards so it's a conglomeration of many details. Of course, iVillage didn't give a flying crap about what we'd like, given they'd already decided their format. I'm liking Houzz farrrrrrrr better.

Brn, I'm thoroughly confused on your site. What direction is north on the plans, what direction is the ocean, where is the road and where is the conservation land? My immediate reaction was that I liked the north elevation as I see the modern direction they're going but based on other sides and window patterns I'm not entirely sure that was intentional. The elevations doe explain the site, I never understood the garage was in the basement (as empty nesters you'll have to take groceries up 2 flights of stairs... and how do you get to that outdoor shower? climb the retention wall?) However, seeing potential in the elevations does not make me see the potential in your plans. They look like they came from 2 entirely different designers with completely different skill levels. Back to the drawing board.
