Factory mulled windows?
Comments (23)Cp..yes and the search would probably be more fruitful if I could remember some of his other monikers. Your windows are well done....both inside and outside. Mine in my old house looked like this with 2 studs between the windows. Love this approach. I like the 6" trim around your windows and in between. Are the edges eased or squared? Are you using a backband? Do you have a close up pic of the 1x6 ? Holly...we used Andersen 400 dh in our last house and we loved those windows. Owned the house for over a decade..not a bit of trouble. Great windows back then. This house I knew I wanted the Marvin Ultimate casement with interior retractable screens and fractional grill. This was our splurge and we didn't look elsewhere. We further splurged with the aluminum pre-installed exterior trim. But it looks good and will be maintainance free. ..no caulking. You should look at this window. ps..thanks for the props re: my senior moment :-) Here is a not very recent picture that demonstrates the size of the trim piece between the grouped windows on the interior. It will look a lot like CP's in size....See More2 Double Hung Windows - Factory Mulled Appearance?
Comments (3)Hi @nehome. I know it has been 4 years but on the chance you're still around, I would love to see the result of your mulled Andersen Woodwright windows. I am about to order our windows and our order will include three 2-wide double hung mulled units (one over kitchen sink, one to replace a picture window in our dining room and one in a bedroom. I am trying to visualize what the mull will look like on the interior, The image on the quote is the exterior view and shows several different measurements, one appears to be the width of each window, ie. 23 3/8, the other is the RO width (47 3/8) and then the unit width is 46 7/8. 23 3/8 x 2 = 46 3/4 so I guess that means the mull width is .125 but this seems really narrow. I must be missing something....See MoreMulling 3 double hung windows together
Comments (18)Thank you, @kl23. Your windows do look great! The Full Divided Light (FDL) as Andersen calls it (others call it Simulated Divided Light (SDL) with spacer bar) is very attractive. It looks like maybe your neighbors window has Grills Between Glass. I appreciate you sharing these photos. I have had a couple people question my desire for 6 over 6 FDL or SDL with spacer bar (I hear, "oh, so you want to clean 24 rectangles between inside and out, per window!") but I really like the look and we have a traditional cape so 6 over 6 is appropriate. Thank you, again....See MoreAnderson windows mulling question
Comments (2)Anything is possible. Will be easier on the window to put the slider on top of the picture. Like @millworkman said, you'll have operational issues with that big a window on the slider....See Morevishketan
