night stands by window
Comments (1)Are you planning on curtains? I am new to houzz and I definitely don't have professional advice, but with the bed where it is I would think smaller nightstands would look better. It would also make the curtains easier to open and close if you have them. On another note, I know this sounds crazy and no one would agree probably, but I don't always like everything centered and I love to use every inch of space and if it were my room I would probably move the bed over to the edge of one of the windows with a nightstand in front of the window, and on the other side put another nightstand in front of the wall and use the space by the window for something else. Maybe a small chair in front of the window. Or if there is room a small desk or storage shelf on that wall by the window. I hope that makes sense. It really just depends on what you need and want for the bedroom....See MoreCherry sleigh bed - night stand issue
Comments (2)I have the same problem! The depth of the headboard dwarfed the RTA nightstands I bought when we moved our queen sleigh bed to the guestroom, as we kept the nightstands that came as a set with the queen, to use by the new king bed (also a sleigh). I think the small but deep dressers in the middle photo above, are the real answer, but I do not have access to buy those at present (small town, pandemic lock-down). I purchased a pair of end tables from a "moving" sale to use in the meantime -- putting baskets on the open bases for storage....See MoreWorking on an old night stand.
Comments (8)Are you stripping the current finish and then painting (you said “prime.”)? Or are you re staining or simply refinishing the surface of what you find? There are people here who can give you advice, whatever it is that you intend for it. Some are professional painters, others are hobbyists. Good luck!...See Moreneed help with night stands
Comments (1)You could go in a similar wood tone or get something in just about any contrasting style -- matchiness isn't considered desirable these days. Can you give us more to go on than color, like the syle of the bed or your general decorating style?...See More- 7 years ago
