Jury still out. I like certain aspects of individual varieties like Sparx but for my Market sales I've had to bunch 2 heads together when selling with comparable larger headed varieties. I'm re growing now and will likely continue to grow these but I'm waiting for positive customer feedback. I like almost all romaine varieties for summer-long growing and I do like crisp texture that they have. My favorites will still be larger headed ones like Magenta and Cherokee.

Too small for my taste. All you end up with the heart - enough for maybe one very small salad. Besides normal Romaine is so heat tolerant like Barrie said only the very worst summer heat is any threat to them and with a bit of shade they just keep on going for me.

I like to do a mix of full size and mini romaines. I can fit the mini romaines along the edges on my tomato and pepper beds and they will be done before the warm weather stuff crowds them out.

This year I am growing Sparx, Jericho, Dragoon, and Breen. I don't think I would consider Sparx to be a mini romaine. It is quite a bit larger than Dragoon and Breen but a little smaller than Jericho.

Grew the EZ serve last year (Burpee) Did exactly as described, but was truly one serving size. All ready at once though. Trying the Red leaf mini this year.
