Comments (3)need some pix .... but i have to say.. a lot of us gave up on this problem plant a long time ago ... you ought to consider such ... if they keep dying.. why do you keep replanting the same thing??? this might be indicative of what happens.. when you plant too many of the same thing.. some little problem multiplies itself in to a nightmare ... i doubt the ants are the primary cause ... unless they are not ants ... ken Here is a link that might be useful: how to post pix...See Moreice melt killing boxwoods
Comments (7)i figured as much ... but thats not actually what she said ... regardless.. there have been dozens of post on browning boxwoods in the last few weeks.. for her to jump to some conclusion.. other than a bad winter is a bit premature.. dont you think ... you wait until it buds out.. then figure out what is dead.. IF ANY OF IT .. and then if its COMPLETELY dead .. then maybe the ice melt was the cause... or the z4 winter we had in much of z5 [she doesnt mention where in z5 she is] .. or last years drought.. or improper planting... or too much ferting ... i am thinking she is on a tear to blame hubby .. and i dont think she can make that leap yet ... maybe.. but not yet ... ken...See MoreCan my Thuja Smaragd be saved?
Comments (4)hey.. i have been thinking of you guys... wondering how the whole project was going ... return that one on your warranty .... its only been there a couple months ... and hold the receipt for fall.. on the other ... NEVER feed a stressed plant ... just get that thought out of your head... its a water issue.. these things should NEVER need to be fed.. and i grow on beach type sand ... just trust me on that ... compost is not really food.. its a soil amendment.. and building the soil is always a plus .... it helps avoid having to fert ... but it will have no effect on these plants .... now be honest.. you really didnt expect to not have a failure ... do you know how to water properly ... it was in that link.. way back.. of planting trees ... can we have a pic of the whole.. to see how its developing .???? ken...See MoreRey Barry
