Drooping repotted peace lilly

I had a healthy hardy peace lilly and decided it needed repotted after 8+ years in the same pot. It was very hard to get out of the old pot. I put it in a pot just a smidgen bigger, watered it well and it hasn't bounced back. Drooping Badly. I broke a root off that had some shoots on it. Tried repotting that as well and the leaves have all died. Never had any problems with this plant until now. Please someone help. I've had this plant for about 9 years. I'd hate to lose it now.

How did you repot? Did you just pot up (move the entire plant with its root ball intact to a bigger pot) or do a complete repot (all the old soil removed)? How much light is it receiving? How often do you water? Could you share some pictures?

How long ago did you repot? What type of soil did you pot it in? How wet are you keeping it?

Letting the plant wilt over and over can kill off roots and lead to rot. Let the top inch or two start to feel almost dry, or near dry, then water well. Only re-pot when it really needs it, when the roots are more than the soil, or when the roots are wrapped around and around throughout the rootball in circle's . Reg soil is fine, just make sure it's fast draining. You can add Perlite to the soil which will help. You can use a plastic or clay pot, as long as it's watering needs are taken of. I use a large clay pot. Other's prefer plastic. Even with clay, I only water once a week because it's large. With a plastic pot, you'll water less. Billy Rae

Sorry to hear that your mama passed away. I can understand why the plants mean a lot to you. The good news is that I do think these plants can be saved. They don't look like they are imminently going to die. A couple of questions that might help to better figure out how to improve them: Do you let the water drain out of the pots when you water them? Hi I grow them outdoors as yard plants as well as in pots and find the only thing they will not tolerate is being completely dry. First let me mention that there are several species of these as well as hybrids and the main difference seems to be what is dry lol. They invaded my water garden lol I would suggest a standard potting soil if you only have a few get the regular types the more expensive have better more long lasting ingredients. Hi, Your peace lily is probably trying to adjust to your home. It might also be potbound. I'd go with a plastic pot, just because this plant loves moisture, and you'd have to keep a close eye on it in a clay pot. They like to be moist just a slight drying out before a drink again. You dont need anything at the bottom as long as you have decent potting soil. They also like morning sun, at least a little to bloom. Good luck, Jen

About 3 weeks ago. I used miracle grow potting mix. I water about once a week. It was perfect before repotting.
