Comments (5)Miele is a much more stable company with a much better service and distribution network in the US and Canada. Although Miele is a niche luxury brand in the USA it has over 3 billion euros in revenues every year. Asko is relatively tiny by comparison and it was purchased by Slovenian appliance maker Gorenje a few years ago. They shut down all manufacturing in Sweden and moved all Asko production to Slovenia. I have not heard of a fall in reliability or quality but something to keep in mind. I have heard they have changed their dealership requirements in the USA a couple of times the last 10 years. So they take and give dealerships much more often than Miele. Miele dealers are basically order takers and get a commission. Miele handles everything including delivery, installation and service. I can see why stores would recommend Miele. The one feature that would have me leaning toward Asko is hot washes get to 205 degrees F while Miele's North American models get to 155. I am a bit surprised by the lack of responses but hope that helps....See MoreTideman, OMG, What a fantastic box of goodies
Comments (14)Hi Jim...glad to see you..don't know how I missed this post until now. Yes I've tried some of your goodies...today I used the Bubble Bandit dishwashing detergent ...awesome stuff..everything was clean and shining..love it. I took a down filled comforter to the laundramat and used one Persil Non-Bio Tablet it worked beautifully and the duvet smelled heavenly. I really appricate all these awesome goodies..you sure have been generous. Hubs says were only 2&1/2---3 hours away so sometime this summer or early fall we may be able to plan a drive out, we can go for lunch or dinner and you can show me your machines. LOL Again Jim Thank You much....See MoreTo make this relevant to "Laundry forum"
Comments (140)Congrats on the new car! Nothing is more fun than a brand new car. It is beautiful, and it gets very good reviews too. It will be perfect to haul laundry in. I am like Hmorton with the interior - I would get that beautiful cream color grimy in no time. I have a black interior in my car, and I actually don't like it aesthetically, but it does hide dirt, and that was the consideration that won when I was choosing the interior color. I hear there are treatments one can do to car interiors so that any spills will wipe up and not sink in....See MoreTeach me your ways, oh Laundry Gods and Goddesses
Comments (49)techs recommend Maytag as they provide very good after market warranty should you need it. I made the horrible mistake of buying Electrolux after having Maytag for over 30 years. The washer shredded my king size comforter, a set of queen sheets and the dryer has been making a racket since day 1. They said that I should never have put a king size comforter to wash...but that's what they advertise and part of the reason I bought it. Electrolux blamed me for it all. They provide the worst customer care I have ever had. Their products are poorly designed. As an example, the racket made by the dryer is caused by lint blocking the blower fan. I remove all lint after every single load as I have always done. When the tech came, he said we have to take the machine apart every so often to remove lint that did not get caught by the screen. Who takes their machine apart?!!!! So I used a very long handled rubber spatula to squeeze it in that area to get excess lint out but still not perfect and back to the infernal racket. After multiple visits from a tech to "repair" this, the last tech put an extra thick felt around the lint screen to try to keep all lint on the screen. So far so good. The kicker is the letter I received from Electrolux stating that should this repair ever re-occurs, I will have to pay for it!!! Unfrickin believable!!!! So I asked the tech who provides best warranty service...hands down, Maytag. Lesson learned....See Moremamapinky0
