Vadara Calacatta Blanco quartz countertops?
Comments (46)Does anyone have Vadara sereno gold? Im considering it with off white cabinets. I’d love to see a picture of it installed and any pros or cons. I’m concerned about some of the spotting comments. i have Cambria in my bathrooms and love it, but didn’t see any patterns i liked in the Cambria. Is vadara made in china?...See MoreIt's April, 2017. How is your build progressing?
Comments (195)We have only purchased finished homes in the past. Our plan is somewhat custom as in we drew it from scratch with a local home design business (that many builders in the area use) but after reviewing hundreds of plans online/in person we aren't doing anything drastically unique. It's basically a collection of a bunch of different inspiration homes we have. We also have the good fortune to be connected to a solid tradesman in new home construction who referred some trusted subs. I was very cautious about this idea my when husband pitched it but after a lot of research it makes sense for us!...See Morewhite or stainless sink?
Comments (17)I’ve had both stainless and white enamel cast iron and when we did our kitchen remodel a couple of years ago I went with undermount stainless steel for both of my sinks. I figured that over the years, the only downside with SS was the water spots left behind. With white I had trouble with every other stain being left behind! I have arthritic hands and I just did NOT find it easy to scrub my white sinks clean! My hubby could do it just fine, but I hated relying on him to do it just because I couldn’t seem to put enough elbow grease into it. The nice thing about undermount SS sinks is there is less surface area showing on the counter, so the water spots don’t bother me nearly as much as they did when I had top mount SS sinks. I have both a Krauss sink (main sink) and an Elkay sink (prep sink) and they’re both really nice and not noisy like some cheaper SS sinks I’ve had in the past that aren’t so well insulated or as thick or whatever....See Morelooking for pros and cons of porcelain countertops. thanks!
Comments (77)Dana - so glad to hear your porcelain is holding up so great!! That’s very encouraging. After 2+ years of planning / designing and researching all things kitchen and countertops, we started construction in July and we are finally about to see it all come together! Our cabinets arrive from Amish Indiana on Monday and I met with our fabricator on Friday (and saw my 4 gorgeous Antolini slabs) who said it will only be 2-3 weeks to cut them after we discuss where the pattern/ veining should be seen. I absolutely cannot wait!!! In a fun and unexpected twist, my fabricator also had some porcelain remnants that matched the countertops so well that we are using these for a quick fireplace surround update too. I hope to post photos in about a month? Maybe they will inspire someone else to also try porcelain w/ a vetted and experienced fabricator....See MoreSheila Brar
