Should work. But having used zip ties on a similar set up around my hot tub, they do not last more than a few months in our Calif. sun. Replaced them with screws into the metal supports.

What a novel idea for the honeysuckle! My mother had a honeysuckle vine growing on a cedar post beside our door. It was one of my favorite things in the yard. I've avoided doing it since it's so invasive if not kept in tight control but the hanging basket idea sounds good. Think I'll give it a try. Sandy

Hard to say without seeing the particular fixture, but generally, where there's a will there's a way. A lighting specialty store would probably be able to make a modification.

I got dramatic results after adding several 100W 5000k (color temperature) LEDs and CFLs to make up for dim winter light in my apartment. Better light in the summer made an even bigger difference, but even before that my plants had gone from suffering badly to having good active growth. The key is positionin the bulbs close to the plants because the light intensity drops the further the source is from the leaves. As an aside, I found LEDs are cooler than CFLs and thus less likely to scorch leaves. This isn't an issue unless you're like me and 1) move the plants around between windowsills and the artificial lights and 2) forget to make sure a CFL doesn't end up too close to a leaf. I started out clamping work light fixtures to a pole so I could adjust the height for different plants, but the plants didn't look great clustered together, the tall bushy plants blocked light from the short ones, and one light or another was always in my eyes when I read or watch TV. Again, not an issue if your plants are compact enough that an octopus/lights on a pole could reach all of them at once. Now I clamp most of the lights to a shelf mounted between two windows and only use the pole for the tallest plants. OTOH, I saw a 2" LED grow light for $50 at Home Depot yesterday, so I'm considering setting one up inside a window frame for the shorter plants so only a few have to be moved back and forth. I hope some of that is helpful!
