Iron Stains on toilet bowl
Comments (4)I guess it depends on how eco-friendly you want to be, but the cheapest and fastest thing I have found is a product called "the works" at my local dollar store. You don't even want to know what the toilet looked like when I moved in my home before I cleaned it. I may have been the first. It works really well on iron and on hard water stains. I actually put half of the bottle in the bowl, swished it around good and left it sit over night. Another good swish and scrub in the morning and it came right out. PS- I am not buying the story from the PO's of the house that it was the water, because it has never looked that way again or even close. LOL....See MoreGetting rust build up out of toilet tank
Comments (10)Depending on the water conditions, # of people in the house and plumbing-appliance requirements a correctly sized softener will treat your hardness but if the iron content is high additional equipment will be required. You needn't plumb a separate faucet for untreated drinking water. Treating your water problems will extend the life of your plumbing, fixtures, appliances, clothes, and save you money on soap and detergents. Comments (11)Well, that's interesting. We were getting some hard rings (even though we have soft water) after being gone for a while. My husband used a pumice on it and I swear it got worse! It now gets the rings faster than the downstairs toilet, which did not get the pumice treatment. They are identical Kohlers. In our new house, we have 2 different Totos and they get a slight ring when we are gone for two weeks, but it comes off with just a quick brush from a regular toilet brush. I thought the issue in our old house was that the pumice had scratched it, but maybe not....See MoreFavorite toilet bowl cleaner without bleach?
Comments (8)I have a Toto toilet with the special finish and I use Majestic Non Acidic Cleaner which I got from amazon. I also use a silicone brush rather than a more abrasive brush. I got the silicone toilet brush from amazon as well. It seems to work well. Toilet is clean and there are never streaks or whatever clinging to the sides. I also have a Toto washlet that sprays down the bowl when someone is using so that also probably helps minimizing cleaning. Non Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner...See More- 9 years ago
