finally got some good manure
Comments (3)Since I've been composting and making leaf mold since the 1970's and read and reread Sir Albert Howard I figured out that by creating and turning a hot pile the N is saved and weed seeds and pathogens are destroyed. I six weeks I can use this for a seed mix if I so choose. As for leaves in a pile; I would never do that. Leaves are fermented. Manures and forbs are composted. If I wanted to plug up and slow or stop my hot compost I would put a bunch of leaves in with the manure. When is the last name horses and cattle have dropped their manure in leaf piles...they do not live and eat in the forest....See MoreFinally some good news! Rehabber update!
Comments (3)Donna, it truly is amazing sometimes how these birds can manage to beat the odds, especially without our help! Sue, I'm in N.E. Ohio. I know, I'm jealous of her. I don't think I'll be having that many birds any time soon! Just not my kind of luck. 2/5 eggs have hatched. Tomorrow is day 14. Hopefully I awake to the remaining 3 hatched! But for some reason, there are MORE HOSP juvies flying around, and I've only caught like 1 in the past couple days! RRGH! Wish I had a good BB gun! Why aren't they going into the DRST with the rest? ~Tim~...See MoreFinally some good quartzite info from supplier
Comments (6)I just had a quartzite installed called White Eternity. It was very very expensive at about $200 a sq foot and is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately it does stratch. I was under the impression it wouldnt and even my fabricator said it shouldnt be behaving like that. I have yet to get an answer back. I am just trying not to look at those spots because I literally spent a small fortune and if I think about it too much it will just piss me off. So...what I am trying to say is yes, not all Quartzites are bullet proof....See MoreMinot ND-some good news some bad news!!
