Raynaud's Syndrome or Disease
Comments (26)Flint, I am here also still. I went to the movies with a friend tonight and it was so cold in the movie theatre which caused my feet to turn white and I had to watch the movie feeling like I had frost bite the pain was so bad. I am home now and hot from wearing so many sweaters with the heat on but my left foot is still frozen and will not warm up while the right foot warmed up. Hence, I was doing a search on how to warm up an already too cold foot from Raynaud's Syndrome and found this old post and saw it was being made active again. My Raynaud's seemed to have lessened a great deal and then after my neck back from the car accident 3 years ago started to hurt again, it seems my feet and hands are back to being freezing cold. I bought 10 pair of wool socks and it seems the medium wool is better to wear but they are thick and I may have to buy some warm insulated boots wtih room for thicker socks. I used to wear 3 pair of socks in the day time and three at night but I was doing so well, I was this summer only wearing one pair of socks. My feet actually sweated for the first time in my life this summer but now the Raynaud's is back full force again and I think it is from the nerves in my spine over reacting. I hope Flint, you find some answers to help yourself. I hope others join in to give advice on how to warm my feet up quickly. I am going to try the scratching my nails on my feet to see if it helps....See MoreRaynaud's people, how are you doing so far?
Comments (14)Alisande, I never heard of the connection either. How it happened is for years I have had c-spine injury and was seeing multiple specialists trying to find one that would do the surgery on c2 and more. One surgeon wanted me to do the carpal tunnel surgery first to see if it would ease some of my numb arm problems, he also told me he thought it would help my pain by 80 percent and may even help my Raynauds by allowing proper circulation to flow...it sure did. I had it done on my left hand planning to do the right one day, but it helped so much I left it alone. 2years later I did find a surgeon to work on my spine...I feel wonderful now. I had my c-spine surgery almost a year ago....See Morewhat I saw at the doctor's office today!
Comments (27)hahahaaa maybe I should have whipped out the phone and turned on the camera and asked her to strike a pose for me! She might have been thrilled. I mean if she didn't want that kind of attention why the heck was she dressed that way. The thing that still just strikes me as so strange is that she was a very pretty classy looking lady maybe in her 30's and from the waist up was dressed very nicely and her shoes had to be very expensive. I was just really glad at least she had the dark control top type so that part was not see through LOL Maybe she thought that counted as shorts !...See MoreDo your doctors ask what you eat?
Comments (36)Snidely, sorry, maybe I need to clarify. We don't follow Fuhrman or buy his products, but if you can sift through the hype, the diet information about foods, organic and healthy store bought foods and how they benefit our bodies is worth investing the time to read. I'm turned off by the whole celebrity thing too and at first I was very skeptical. However that said, my husbands doctor uses good medical practices in tandem with the basics of the diet (something he was into long before Fuhrman hit the circuit). He just uses the articles on the site as an easy guide for his patients. I probably should have pointed the link to the library instead. Library We found articles like these to be interesting and helpful for our situation. G-Bomb foods Fuhrman's claim that a good healthy diet and exercise can reverse disease has been known for a long time when it comes to diabetes or high blood pressure but I think he is over reaching in many of his claims. That said, I do believe that eating more foods that support the immune system (for example) can help a patients body to fight the disease over all. My husband is proof of that. We know that the cancer will return, history has proven that. However the foods we incorporate into his daily diet has absolutely helped his immune system fight common illnesses that most people on chemo are super susceptible to; like flu's or a cold. Obviously, every time someone with cancer gets sick they are at risk. Not only can those things flare in to something worse, but they weaken their bodies making it harder for them to fight the cancer. The chemo can also play havoc with the kidney's or other organs. A bean/legume based diet is healthier not only nutritionally but because it provides proteins the kidney's can process. My husband was on strong chemo treatments for many months before he went into remission. Now he's on maintenance chemo, he takes it every single day. His immune system should be extremely weak but it's not and his diet is the only thing he does different from most patients. His energy should be very low, yet it's not. We totally believe that the diet and vitamin regimen he's on has been a big factor. When I told the doctor I was turned off by the celebrity, he chuckled and said, "get passed the celebrity and focus on the information. There is no dispute that much of it, when practiced in our daily routine can be beneficial in a variety of ways."...See More- 9 years ago
