Growing giant sequoia and dawn redwood as bonsai

I've been fascinated by the history of the dawn redwood, and the awesome giant sequoias since I was a kid. Now I live in California and found Jonsteen sells seedlings and bought 2 of each. I had them pick trees for bonsai, instead of yard.

Wish I owned my own property so I could plant them in the ground, but I don't. As bonsai, I can take them with me when I move.

Can anyone tell me how to plant them? I know they're from 2 different environments with difference soil/water needs. I don't know what size pot, diameter, depth, etc. to use.

I'm not really interested in the training, pruning, creating a work of art type of bonsai. I just want to grow these magnificent trees.

They're fresh from Jonsteen's nursery, so I assume they won't need to be hardened off?

Do you fertilize immediately after transplanting?

Thank you so much for your suggestions.
