Comments (3)I'm thinking aphids, and ants love to farm aphids. You should blast them off with a hose or even just wipe them off with a wet rag or if you really want to, you could buy a poison to spray on them, theirs many kinds to choose from. I'm sure more people on here will come along with more solutions on how to get rid of them. Heck, even find some ladybugs and let them eat the aphids, but that might take too long... Comments (5)I hate fungus gnats! Don't believe the myth that they are harmless to your plants. The adult gnats are harmless, but I have lost many young violets to fungus gnat larva. The larva will eat the roots. Any insect spray will kill the adult gnats. Gnatrol (can buy from amazon.com) will kill the larva. The larva need the top half inch of soil to be wet, so let the top dry out between waterings. Don't leave water in plant trays. A small fan near your plants helps too. Another thing, there is often an outdoor source that attracted the fungus gnats. Check for rotting leaves or other composting materials especially near windows. In my case they came in from potted plants I have outdoors. I hope this isn't too much! Adam in NH...See MoreLittle Black Bugs on Okra Leaves
Comments (1)Probably aphids. Aphids come in many different varieties and colors, so don't be fooled by them. Aphids suck out juices of plants and and introduce several different diseases. And, to make matters worse, if ants find them, they will farm raise them on your plants and keep them where they are. The ants eat the nectar the aphids produce, and the aphids get food from the ants. I would recommend planting garlic around your plants that have aphids. The garlic may keep the ants away. Comments (291)I have had this for several years in my house, cars, yard. I agree with several pictures especially strange thing with hairs. Also tiny thread like stuff all over me when I come in from cars or being outside and extremely difficult to see and feel when the numbers are big. Also have seen these stiff hairs that wind in and out on car mats so they must do the same in clothes and maybe skin. Tiny black dots, white flakes, yellowish tan chips. With old Maytag washer with double filter, wow there was stuff off jeans. In old Maytag super fine mesh nylon screen, hundreds maybe thousands of active specks. I took lots of pictures but nobody believes it is a problem!? I too have had many rounds of permethrin cream and followed by Ivemectrin. My doctor and her partner dermatologist say it is nothing. Salt baths work. Fairy Tale shampoo controls it and brush morning and night. Gold Bond foot powder controls it. I Use lightly on back and legs and feet before going to bed. Also wrap in a single sheet so now I do sleep better. Put powder in shoes. Wear socks and use market veggie bags to put over my feet before putting on socks. Wear long sleeve shirts almost always and often three layers of tops. always jeans. Seems crazy! I think my deceased husband had it for years as he worked out in the yard and came from a farming background...scaly skin where exposed and looked sore. Creams never helped. My neighbor has it and we have compared info. We are are crazy about vacuuming and cleaning. He purchased a blue light ozone sterilization germicidal lamp. I used it and believe it does control them. $125...See Moreuncle molewacker z9b Danville CA (E.SF Bay)
