Pam: Ah, if only it were! *History* I get by clicking on the cat icon with the clock, and the history menu drops down on the *left* side of the screen. You can see where this one is, and I get this menu by clicking on the thing like double parentheses next to the star in the address window. Besides, as I said, I have had History turned off for a long time and that side bar is empty. The items in this menu happen to be mostly things I have only visited once or twice and are by no means representative of my browsing history. If they were, it might be of some use. Owbist: Thanks. I wasn't looking for speed or accessibility. I just don't like having something whose method of working and management I don't know. It bothers me! It even bothers me that I don't know its name, so I am hampered in looking for a solution. Linesman: Your message just came in. That seemed to do the trick, and I was thinking Yippee! But, alas, the sites didn't stay deleted. They disappeared when I highlighted them and clicked Delete, but the minute I clicked on the "parentheses" mark that brings up that menu, there they all were again. Closing and reopening FF didn't make a speck of difference. I have found that clicking on the star in the URL window adds a new site. So half of the mystery is solved, but the half that most interests me is the deleting part! LOL I think I'm going to have to uninstall and reinstall FF, but even that may not help.

I use IE7 and/or FireFox. I really prefer IE7. I make sure I get all the updates. I juse my Windows popup blocker and also Google popup blocker. I have my security set to medium, and use AVG antivirus. I have great luck with that setup. FireFox is OK, I just am more familiar with IE7 and prefer it.

I'm with Brick on this one, too. There's well-built and then there's overbuilt, and it shouldn't be all that difficult to figure out what you've got. The extra loads you're talking about aren't going to be moving around and flexing the structure; you bring them in and set them down, and there they stay. The sub-zero may be heavier than your average Kenmore, but it's not as if you'll be parking a tank in the corner. I know married couples whose combined weights are more than most subzero models! The granite is heavy for a person to lift, but it wouldn't feel like much if you were a house. In structural terms, the farm sink is essentially weightless; so is the hardwood floor. The trouble with all this is that it's pure conjecture. No one can guarantee anything without knowing what you've got. What size are the floor joists? Are they spaced 16" on center? How long are their unsupported spans? What size support girders to they rest on? How well is the girder supported? It's not rocket science, but neither can it be boiled down to "Boy, this stuff is heavy! Better beef up that floor..." The numbers are worth looking at.

I've been trying various combinations of space, dash, and >, but am not familiar with the combination of a dash and >. Anyway, I did finally figure out that Pale Moon has not disabled Scrapbook. But all its contents are still missing, no matter what I do. At some point, I also got to Scrapbook in my FF profile, but then nothing inside it led to a solution. The best I could do was to choose the browser to open an .rdf file, which resulted--depending on what I clicked on--in messages: (1) "This XML file (Huh? I thought it was RDF.) does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below" and some meaningless repetitions of RDF and "urn:scrapbook:root" that took me to a very confusing list of unhelpful things when I clicked on it, and (2) an extremely long list of items in a blue font, some of which bore a resemblance to things that might have been in Scrapbook, while others did not, all smashed together with no organization and impossible to use. I suppose this was for the same reason mentioned in (1), that there was no style information associated with it. I am considering that "last resort." I'm tempted to go ahead with sys restore immediately, but as it happens, the only restore point is 9/12, which was well before PM was installed, so to be polite, I will wait to see if anyone on the Pale Moon forum (where I have posted about this problem) offers a solution. Somehow, I despair of success in this case, and I'll probably have to give up on the lost Scrapbook entries and then decide whether or not all the trouble and confusion are worth sticking with Pale Moon. The way it and Firefox seem to be communicating and changing things in each other behind the scenes might drive me crazy. I've never come across anything like that before.
