Comments (2)I have Mexican Copper Sinks in my kitchen and baths. Love them! Mine are from Ebay-Cobrecruz. The owner Jose will make custom copper pieces. My kitchen sink is two years old, looks like new. My copper sinks in the bathroom look cleaner than the old Kichler sinks I replaced. Toothpaste does not harm the finsih and wipes right off....See MoreCopper Sink Owners
Comments (3)Copper Sinks Online has two things I used to select our faucet: 1) photo gallery - go to their home page and there is a link below the main photo to their photo gallery. There are some great ideas in there. 2) copper patina/finish chart - When we bought our sink from them (we were really happy with both the company and their sink - and they have the thickest copper sinks out there for kitchen sinks), they have a place where you buy your drain right after selecting your sink. Drains and faucet manufacturers seem to have similar finish choices (i.e. Oil Rubbed Bronze, Antique Copper, etc.), so after we selected what matched the best, we went and bought an ORB faucet (matched their "Dark Smoke" the best) and got 10% off by buying the sink and faucet together. I would also take a look at the article they have called "copper 101" (or something like that) - it was the best buying guide I found when I did my research and saved me from a few potentially costly mistakes. Finally - if you still have questions - just call them. The customer service person that helped us was fantastic and really knowledgeable Good luck! Comments (4)We own two CopperSinksOnline.com sinks - a kitchen farmhouse sink and a bar sink - and spent a great deal of time researching the options. For us, 16 gauge wasn't going to cut it. Why? There is a HUGE difference in weight and strength. We saw several 16 gauge sinks at a few plumbing showrooms and even a showroom salesperson told us that long term, thicker is better due to pots and pans that can dent the thinner copper over time (copper is not like stainless steel and is a bit softer). There was one company claiming to have a 10 gauge sink, but after looking at it and finally buying ours from copper sink online at half the cost, they were both within a pound of the same weight. 10 gauge? I think they are a bit off.. Bottom line is that we are really happy with our purchase. I have had many friends buy from them as well with similar positive results. ...and one friend that tried to save money by buying on that famous online auction place and really got burned (the company was in Mexico and when he needed to return what was clearly an inferior product, he went through a nightmare scenario). I will post a link to an article that is right on when it comes to these sinks. I found that this company always had somebody knowledgeable answering the phones and they followed through on what they promised. ...and our sink is amazingly beautiful and tough. Good luck! Comments (15)I'm sure you are all aware of the danger of copper residue ingestion, but just in case... As a historic reenactor specializing in Gt. Lakes fur trade, I encounter a lot of copper, esp. nested kettles. Our club makes a point of using copper and brass containers for cooking only if they are tinned inside. We can use them for water holding, even drinking water, but if any acid food or similar substance gets to eating at the copper, it can create something that can poison us. Having once drunk cider from a container of silverplate on copper that must have had some verdegris along a scratch in the silver, all I can tell you is plan to be sick to your stomach, very sick. And that's if you are lucky. If this had gone on a lot longer before I drank, am not sure what I would have done. Water in copper pipes is safe to drink and candy or popcorn made in a brass or copper kettle is standard practice. I know a lot of people cook eggs and sauces in copper containers. Just be cautioned about chemical reeactions. On another note, am very curious as to whether anyone knows much about zinc sinks and countertops. These were common a century ago, I believe....See Moreeideas
