Encountered a large colony of Erythronium americanum(Trout lily) in a large watershed. There were so many spent Carolina jasmine blooms on the ground that,at first, I didn't even notice the trout lilys.

These are just emerging


Although not as abundant as the trout lily, this was occupying the same habitat. From a distance they looked the same. What might this be ?
