A week later, and I am happy to report that neither the EarthTainer III with the upper anchor bolts, nor the worst case test unit without the upper anchor bolts failed the 175 pound weight test. In removing the unbolted Aeration Bench to look for any deformities in the support assembly, it looked as new: Even examining the bolt holes themselves where stress would have occurred, everything looks fine: So, my conclusion is that securing the Aeration Bench to the outer container with just the two upper bolts as in the current Guide is more than sufficient. Hey Josh, I have been been using Pro-Tekt with my Foliage Pro all winter and i can say that my plants have definately been happier than in the past... When i take my rain water and place it in my watering cans, i add the Pro Tekt first to all of the water and then stir it in. (1/4 tsp per gallon) Then i go back and add my Foliage Pro to the water. I keep it upstairs and let it warm to room temperature and then water. The combination of the two will definately help your plants and im so happy to have found my Pro Tekt. My Hydroponics dealer had to order it for me. I still can't find or he wont (says he cant..) order it for me. He looked it up and says its not available. Hmm? I still order my Foliage Pro from Ebay. hnycrk- NOW we're talkin! So, I get photobucket on my phone and also gardenweb onto the phone as an app? I think if I can get the basic idea down I can go to BB and they have a Samsung guy there all the time. We're also going to take an I-pad class, so I can do it from my new I-pad mini. Getting closer rhizo-the one that still (or again) lives with us knows the basics (texting, facebook, photos etc). The other one I don't see much and is always busy when she's around!

The difference is in the extractant used to mix with the soil sample and which one is used is critical. I'd suggest you contact your state's extension service to find out which extract and methoe is best for your soil, they will want to know where you live in order to determine your soil type. State universities have spent decades and a great deal of money developing various extractants and methodologies for testing soils TO ACCURATELY PREDICT plant response to both no action and adding specific fertilizers in very specific amounts in different ways. I'm going to guess that the Morgan method has not been through such vigorous testing on a wide variety of crops in a wide range of soils for all parts of the country. BTW, there is also a Mehlich II, not to confuse you more. Not to toot my horn but, I have spent many years of my life in vegetable crops nutrition research at a university and know what I'm talking about. If you want to go with the private lab that is touting their own method, that's your call, if you do, submit a portion of the sample both to the Morgan lab and another to the lab your extension service aims you to, the results may prove to be illuminating if you try the recommendations for both in your garden, side by side.
