Rethinking grout color...can I get some opinions?
Comments (26)Question for Bill and Jeannine regarding the edge of the marble subways where the shower wall meets the painted wall. We are doing a shower in 2"x4" marble subways. They have a tiny beveled edge, but we don't know whether we should expect the tile contractor to bullnose the edges that meet the painted drywall or what? Do you just leave the marble tile as is? They do not seem to offer finished edge pieces for this tile, like there are for ceramics. Maybe you don't need them with stone tile? What do you do along those edges? TIA....See MoreWarming Drawer vs. Microwave Drawer?
Comments (15)I have the Sharp 24" MW drawer (KB-6524PS), and I have a KA WD under my ovens just across the aisle. (The slab drawer front with the hole is the WD. Slab will be replaced with a Shaker front soon.) I use the WD multiple times a week and love having it. Even DH, who sceptically asked if we needed one when I announced the purchase, says it was a great idea. I warm plates, proof yeast bread/rolls, keep DH's dinner warm as he never makes it home before 7:30, keep part of a meal warm when I've accidently or purposely completed a dish before the whole meal is done, kept rolls warm, kept pancakes and the like warm. My WD heats up faster than my oven and is more quiet! If I HAD to choose, I'd go with the MW. I'm semi-tall, but don't find the drawer height an issue. (I had been very concerned about that when laying out my kitchen.) I use it daily to warm leftovers, melt or soften butter, etc. I don't cook in it, but find it invaluable for daily kitchen life. I need to start using some of those fancy features!...See MoreCan I get some opinions on hardware choices?
Comments (6)Sorry to ask a question and then disappear! I love those pewter pulls and the glass knobs! I don't love the hammered knob as much but that is just my taste--not to say it wouldn't work. Here are a couple ORB pull ideas or if not, I'd vote for the pewter pulls. The Jeffrey Alexander ones in the link you can click on aren't ORB exactly, but there are a couple that might work for what you are doing. Good luck! http://www.woodworkershdwe.net/servlet/the-1327/Amerock-BP55317-dsh-DOB-Highland-Ridge/Detail Here is a link that might be useful: pulls...See MoreTell me which microwave drawer to get
Comments (25)Advertguy, I am in the US. I don't know if there are different Sharp MW Drawers offered in Canada. I got mine through a Ferguson Dealer by using the number "SKB6524PS". It is the 24" drawer and I paid $899 in February 2010. Young-gardener, Along with needing to know if the 2 Qt. Pyrex fits (I use it to melt butter and chocolate), the other thing I was dying to know was how easy it was to clean. Well, it is much easier than I would have guessed. I can easily reach inside and see the upper interior portion of the microwave (and reach inside it) by bending over. We also use microwave covers on the food. Here are a few more photos: This shows that the handle does stick out significantly from the profile of the cabinetry. It doesn't bother me when I work at this counter. This is with the drawer in full extension. It sticks out almost 19" into the aisle: And this last photo shows what I am able to easily see and clean when I bend over and look inside: Hopefully this helps....See Moremandy_elaine
