Soap for marking fabric

I have an embroidery business and am considering making my own marking squares. A very experience embroiderer suggests using soap that has gotten thin from use. That's all great, except that I rarely catch it at just the right thickness which is about 1/8" to 3/16".
I need rectangular mold, ideally abut 2.5" x 1.5", but anything close to that would work.
I need a soap base that will not stain fabric. Ivory works pretty well for this. Dove is terrible. It leaves grease stains and will not wash or brush out very easily.
I need recommendations on what soap base to buy to buy that is pure and will not leave stains on the fabric.
