Thanks FrozeBudd. It is a big job moving everything outside for summer and back indoors for winter. My basement runneth over as I try to organize them into their cubby holes just to keep them alive. I still have about 20 extra large pots to move indoors before Monday (our first freeze). The plants get bigger, new plants come in faster than old ones check out, propagation makes things worse as space is limited, and I am another year older. UGH! Amelia blooming, Cowardly Lion (striped rhizo), and it looks like Big Mac (glossy green) Helen Teupel (purple with silver edges) and some unknown silver curl. Flirty Girl (a seedling from Ozzie Johnson who is a member of our begonia club) Jack Black with a cluster of blooms My Special Angel (polka dot cane), Taconite (large dark green leaves), and U450 or U540 (seems like the tag was mislabeled) is the silver leaf with dark veins. rexes from Walmart or Lowe's (Exotic Angel nursery) Proud Mary various begonias I propagated for fun.

Cas Li, Yours is not a maculata but rather a hybrid with maculata in its parentage. The leaf is too wide for its length IMO. Try looking at Flamingo Queen which is a dramatic hybrid from maculata and so many other wonderful hybrids with maculata in it. Go to the International Database of Begonias and do an advanced find. Put in maculata as one of the parents and do a search. This database is a bit fussy so if you do the next page of results, then use the next at the bottom of the page. Do not use the next button at the top of the page. If you want to see each match (make sure it is a cane type) then right mouse click and do an open in a new window or tab. They all have the same genetic flaw though - mildew prone. Here are four I had years ago (Texas Lone Star, Sierra Mountain King, Flamingo Queen, and Matchmaker) Enjoy what you have and don't worry about names unless you started selling any.

There are spots on other leaves. I just noticed it this morning. Some are on the edges and some are in the middle. I’ll definitely check tonight to see if I can see any pests. I have another plant I keep nearby that has similar looking abrasions. (Photo attached)

More than likely caused by mildew - the bane of some begonias such as maculata (large polka dot begonia canes), mallets, and rexes. I spray with Orchard Spray but there are other effective sprays too. Don't worry about humidity as much as light and controlled watering. Too much water will set up mildew and rot faster than anything else. I have mine under shop lights (LED or T8) for 12 hours a day in winter. I find the begonias do better by lightly watering them and checking every day or two in winter months. Heavier watering in summer when they are growing quicker. mine is blooming this month. I find it better outdoors since it has so much more space to do its thing. This was October 12 in Atlanta area. Here is one I bought from a Florida nursery back in 2009. It was September and had a full growing summer to do its thing. I didn't know that much about mildew back then so I eventually lost it.
