did you know this about some impt documents?
Comments (8)Birth Certificates in Ontario cannot be laminated, not sure about other Provinces. I have had mine since I was born and back then the birth certificate was sent to you laminated. Our Social Insurance cards were plastic, not sure what they are today. My birth certificate card is torn and taped and has been that way for over 40 years damaged back in the days I carried it in my back pocket for ID to rent roller skates. When I applied for a new passport a few years ago I had to remove the tape before they would accept it for ID. You know how hard it is to remove 40 year old tape? Comments (46)Stacie, you posted about the sippy cup episode on the Cooking forum back in November, so your MIL's recent behavior shouldn't come as a shocking new development. It's unfortunate you lost so many precious things, but I'm glad to see you recovered the social security cards. You and your husband know the issue, so you either figure out how to control it, or you adopt preventative measures to live with it. You've gotten a lot of good suggestions here and I hope you find some of them helpful. Either way, the real concern is the safety of your children. I'm glad to see you removed the satellite photo with your exact street address from your website. However your accuweather.com link still shows your town and of course your last name is posted on your website. Along with all those adorable photos of your kids and their names. I know how much fun it can be to have your kids and family photos on a public website, but consider the possibilities, particularily with 3 known sex offenders living in your small town. Even in a population of 473, you just can't be too careful. And if I remember correctly, you recently posted a lengthy post about your brother being an alcoholic and your concerns about your daughter and his possible sexual abuse. I'm very glad to see you are getting locks on your doors to protect your home and children. Please take another look at your website and consider any other personal information that might not be in the best interests of your family to publish on the world wide net. Best of luck to you and here's hoping the mother in law issue will not continue to be problematic once you can lock her out of the house....See MorePersonal Papers Found
Comments (20)Regarding driver license renewal, after 9/11, a lot of states (but not all) implemented strict renewal procedures. Here in FL, the following documents are required: Proof of identification: A certified birth certificate; a valid passport; a consular Report of Birth Abroad; a certificate of Naturalization; or a certificate of Citizenship. Proof of Social Security number: Social Security card; W-2 form; paycheck or any 1099 form. Proof of residential address: Two items containing your address, such as a mortgage statement, utility bill, voter identification card or a car insurance policy. These requirements are especially burdensome to women who have been married and/or remarried. The paper trail showing the name change(s) can be a major PITA. However, if you have a passport, it will take the place of all those documments. FL accepts the fact that a woman has already been "vetted" by the Federal Government. As I unerstand it, after your license has been renewed ONCE under these requirements, any future renewals can be done by mail. You all should check with your DMV to find out what documents are needed. Sherrmann, I doubt this "ridiculous oppression" will end anytime soon. Lazypup, your story reminds me of one of DH's favorite sayings: "now good deed goes unpunished". Ellen Ellen...See Moresocial security card stolen
Comments (8)thanks everyone. last night on the equifax site that rajun posted in SamKaren's post, DS did the 90 day alert. And it was sent to the other two credit companies. He won't be able to get a replacement DL until Tuesday. He has his old license that expired in 2005 in his new wallet. He had the spare key to his truck in his wallet also. Thank goodness the bad guys didn't find that and steal his truck. He drove my car to work this morn. The bad guys charged a redbox dvd. They tried to get a $100 cash advance that was declined, but they DID charge a little over $102 at a (as the chg card co. says..) convenience ret... I'm assuming that is convenience retail, lol So they are doing a fraud report. He spoke with the police department. I'm guessing the bad guys bought gas, what else could you buy for that much money at a convenience store? Beer and gas maybe? DS is soooo angry. Not too many people will match his pic and description on his drivers license! 6'6" 280 lbs. big BALD white guy! scary looking! lol he was in Hayden Lake, Idaho (the home of many neo=nazis) with his summer baseball team a few years ago. And the owner of a little convenience store confronted him and told him to get out, he didn't serve people like him. DS was like, "Ummmm, baseball players?" lol It took the coach and other team mates to talk the guy down and let DS buy dome food for lunch....See MoreFun2BHere
