Anyone ordered from Lilies from the Valley?
Comments (3)I just noticed your posting;I have ordered from this company last year and while everything turned out all right in the end it was a bit of an ordeal. The excuses were many and various and some of them truly outstanding in their complexity.I ordered n early summer 2007 and received the shipment in early fall. It is a good thing that I had good blood pressure medication as toward the last if anyone mentioned my lily order a red haze drifted in front of my eyes. However, by way of apology for all the problems, she sent me a bonus package that had me scrambling madly to find room for them all. As it was some of my friends departed with labeled bags of bulbs and the last several dozen were planted in pots and sunk in the garden.Everything appears to be healthy, albeit a little light budwise. That is to be expected, given the origin of the bulbs.Just persevere is all I can say......I think that I posted you in the spring about lily bulblets....my computer had a meltdown so I have no records left.If you are the person, the martagons appear to be hansonii.Good luck with the order. newine...See MoreHas anyone ordered from Raptor Lighting?
Comments (7)Just received my order for more than 40 Raptor (Stevens Electrical Mfg) clear reflector trims for my Juno cans. I talked with Steve at Stevens before ordering and he was very helpful (and assured me of the quality). Now that I have them, I can confirm these are as good, if not better than the actual Juno trims. They have metal cones and plastic rings, exactly like the Juno Alzaks. I've installed them side by side and there is absolutely no difference in light quality. Here's the best part: local supplier - $33 (Juno 27C-WH), Stevens Mfg - $7.95 (Raptor RT-6-CR-75W). The shipping for everything was only $13. Lowe's carries a straight sided Alzak for $19, but you can see inside the can with a CR30 bulb. With the CR30 bulb, a tapered cone is the way to go. One small word of warning is that Juno will probably void their fixture warranty if you don't use their trims. Since I am using 13W CFLs I wasn't concerned about the heat, and do not hold much stake in their warranty anyway......See Morehas anyone ordered from any of these places?
Comments (7)I have heard of Brand Lighting. Plus, they have an actual showroom. In my experience, online retailers with actual showrooms have more passion about the lighting products they sell than an online retailer that sells from a warehouse, only. And, to me, passion translates into customer service from owners down to showroom sales professionals. I've been to two lighting showrooms, one in Illinois and one in California. I haven't been to Miami, lately, or I'd stop in at Brand Lighting. You can usually find out if a site has a showroom by looking on the About Us page. Here is a link that might be useful: Image of Brand Lighting's showroom...See MoreHas anyone ordered this PB mirror?
Comments (3)Hi My3Dogs, You raise a good point, and my husband said the same thing. I'm still drawn to the idea of a mirror, as we had one at the bottom of the stairs that we loved, but when we had some rewiring done, the new light switches got in the way, and the mirror had to go. So, I thought this one might work because it would not be a true full length at 58", and the window panes kind of add a "distraction" so that you wouldn't have your image right in your face as you approach. I will test a mirror there first, though, and that's a great suggestion. I guess my other motive is to brighten the space, as it's a tunnel-like hallway, and thought the mirror would add some depth. Thanks for the thought...you have wonderful insight and such a beautiful home....See MoreKristi Young Design
