Hi Jen, thanks for the warm welcome! :) I know what you mean about lighting and room. The only windows at my house at north and south facing, and two of the three north-facing rooms are other people's bedrooms so I can't take them over! And oh, the hoya flowers are heavenly. I am not sure, but could it be Kalanchoe beharensis 'Oakleaf'? - sure someone will confirm either way. I am just looking at the scalloped leaves. K. tomentosa has smooth leaves. They are not supposed to be brittle at all, they are fuzzy-type kalanchoes, and feel soft to touch. Your plant may be slightly etiolated. They grow 'gangly' sometimes, but if they receive plenty of sunlight, they stay more compact. I have K. tomentosa that gets really stretched in winter, summering outdoors in full sun - that growth is more full. You can see in the photo below how much more compact the new growth is, lower part is just a stem:Rina

Thank you for the responses. I live in zone 6b (Easton, PA) in a second floor, corner apartment with multiple, unobstructed windows along south and west walls (that are painted light). Indoor temp is maintained between 68-72 in summer and 60-65 deg F in winter. My only outdoor space is a small, covered, west-facing patio which heats up like a furnace, from lack of cross ventilation, in summers. The yucca on my patio developed a punch-hole-centered sunburn on one of its leaves, until I got the hang of proper frequency of rotation. All my houseplants are currently indoors in a south/southeast facing room that has one standard double window. When along the west window, occasionally, the leaves of panda plant would get slightly-warm to touch. Rina, I was referring to new growth- leaf/branch- as buds. They look like brown dots/bumps above each branch. I am not very optimistic about rosettes and definitely not expecting any flowers indoors. I don't use grow lights yet. My plan for next spring/summer is to learn to properly repot, upgrade to well draining soil and fertilize adequately. I haven't fertilized any houseplants since I bought them. I do use tap water- without storing/holding it. So, maybe it is the minerals in the tap water causing the white spots. I water this plant profusely when completely dry, and do my best to drain meticulously. I will work on storing tap water before next use. There don't seem to be external pests (by this I mean there was nothing I could manually remove from stem surface or potentially rub off with alcohol etc.) but I may have seen some suspicious looking black web/strings along the soil line. This was seen recently, after all the white spots had manifested themselves. It reminded me of a spider web, only it was in black. Maybe it was foreign matter like a cloth fiber. Maybe it was black mold, if that is how these fungi appear macroscopically. Since I changed its location from west to south, I found myself watering more frequently and wondered if I was overwatering as it is a succulent. Its been growing fast (for not receiving adequate light) in minimal quantity of soil or fertilizer. Btw, I first noticed the "white spot" on an older leaf along its edge. Then I found one area on a stem and more have cropped since. Do let me know if you have any other comments. Thanks! P.S: This pic from Sep 2018 (few days after purchase) was intentionally taken at this angle to make it appear more full. It was a lean specimen with no obvious branching or white spots.

Your plant is 'suffering' from lack of ligth, and it was also before you got it. Leaves should be much more close together, and color if off a bit too, and it is slanted because it was trying to reach more ligth. It is quite etiolated now, ligth indoors thru the blinds is not nearly enough. Succulents are, in general, high ligth plants. They usually do best with min. 6hrs of sunligth. They are also arid plants, and do not need extra humidity. If you need it, use the humidifier but plant doesn't need it. Often, higher humidity could cause fungal problems. Is there a drainage hole in the pot? What kind of soil is it potted in? How much and how often do you water it? If my plant, I would behead it and grow a new, compact plant. But that would work only if you can assure it will get much more light, otherwise you end up with etiolated plant.
